Hi, so this is my version of the 1/35 Kitty Hawk MH-60R in the HSM-35 "Magicians" colors.  Sorry about the photos they're pretty crappy....must get a new phone....iThingy....camera....whatever the hell they are nowadays

had a play at doing some of the lines/connector whajamcallums on the rotorhead......meh.....it's okay for a first smash.  got a few more of these so will get it right next time

A few of the interior bits and bobs before it was zipped up...

This is the overhead cockpit panel...whatever its called....

this is some sort of in-flight entertainment system???....bomb droppy thing....god knows...I sort of jazzed it up a bit as the side was just a blank wall of plastic which was a bit boring ....anyway.....was a ballache to do as its so damn tiny....but fun....

This is the interor....the spidery thing on the left....that was ridiculous....on the sprue it was almost a solid chuck of plastic that had to be surgically removed....that weren't fun.....

Cockpit....bog standard really....

same again....sans chairs.....thing about me is I'm totally crap with decals and the kit comes with this decal set of the instrument panel....sod that....tried me best and didn't use them

Overall view of the inside bits and stuff.....

Anyway that's enough for now...thanks for looking!!

Next one is the US Coast Guard "Jayhawk" - the Astoria one.  Got all the conversion stuff/decals from Werners Wings so looking forward to doing that.

Cheers all

Alan

Thank you for sharing.

 Very nice model indeed.

However. .. One detail you missed…

How do I know ? I made the same mistake on my Seasprite and was told about it.

The topside ´Star and Bars’ should point towards the front.
You may notice it on pictures in the above link - 425 / HSM-41 - (Same applies to the star below)

Add on :

Yeah it was fun trying to make it a bit more zazzy but really fiddly as it's really small...there was another panel by the door, again it was just a flat bit of plastic but when I was looking as some photos of this beast there were some with control panels and stuff which I thought looked better than a blank bit of plastic....this was the result....was a bit icky close up but better than nothing....

...thing is now it's all buttoned up you can't really see it....

One thing though, I was playing around with those Anyz 1/32 resin knobs and dials and they are bloody good! Really fiddly though coz they're so small (banjaxed a few drills as well) but worth it......sorry I'm wittering.....

Awesome job!

Hi Winnie...they really aren't...I've built a couple of these helicopters from Kitty Hawk now and they fit together beautifully.....they really do! I know there's a lot of people who found these a real ball-ache but its just attention to detail. You just have to do a lot of dry fitting and make sure all the edges are clean so that you get clean contacts and no gaps....it's all patience and attention to detail.  The one thing I would do when fitting the two fuselage halves together is build structure into the areas where the two halves come together so you can create a solid bond.....

51880554260_146e65e248_b.jpg

I used I-Beams on the top so that when the halves come together and when pressure is applied the seam can't bow inwards...and you get a solid contact....likewise on the bottom I built up structure with strips of plasticard and then the last strip is a thin one which sort of acts as a guide to bring the two halves into the correct - again you can then apply pressure to the join without it bowing.....

There are a few other oddities but if you start building one let me know and I'll give you any hints I can.  All the sub-assemblies that fit onto the actual hull are amazingly good fits....I think you'll have fun building them!!

Cheers

Alan

Good job. Helicopters aren't my thing, but you did an excellent job! Great internal detail... Attention to all aspects! Compliments

It is a very nice kit and you have done a good job. However, its instructions don't give you a clue as to how to assemble the rotor in stowed position.

yeah...I know what you mean...there's quite a bit of farting about cutting and rotating parts as KH made a bit of dogs breakfast out of this bit...all the bits are there its just that you need divine inspration to make sense of them...I think Flory did one, he has a full build on Youtube which I think went into it in some detail if you're interested.
