Cracking photos.

There are a couple there that are reminiscent of a Gerald Coulson painting with the way you've captured the light.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing.

Cheers.

Thanks mate.  All these were took on the Friday before the Air show with the display aircraft arriving for the show or doing practice flights.  The weather was warm and humid and they were forecasting rain showers and thunder for most of the weekend, hence the dramatic clouds on some of the photos.  Luckily we only had about an hours rain all weekend and that was on the Sunday.  It was strange on the Friday, as you had blue sky north of the runway (to the right as I was looking) and cloud to the south (my left) but thats the British weather.

Here are a few more from Friday.

You've really captured the graceful lines of the Spitfire in this photo essay Ian.

Who would have imagined the Prefect T1 could look so magnificent.

The manufacturer would be proud of that capture. Fine job. 👍

Superb images. The light can be a big challenge at Duxford but you've nailed it.

Brilliant.

Thanks mate.  You are right about the light.  I prefer to be by the airliners or the Land Hall but on the Saturday I arrived late so I was at northern end of the airfield near the apron.  So you are always shooting into the sun.  Thats if its sunny of course and it was on Saturday.  Anyway here are a few more from Friday.

Lovely images, I like the close up precise detail shots and the way you have caught reflection and sunlight.  Thank you for posting, a treat as I am unlikely to visit Duxford ever again.

Thanks for that Houston.  Now I will be posting Saturday and Sundays together and in no order, just as they come.  So to give you an idea whats I was happening and where I was.  On the Saturday I walked the flight line I and then I was at the northern end of the airfield, shooting into the sun which to be honest was a bit of a pain but I arrived late.   And on Sunday I was at the southern part of the airfield and it was overcast with a bit of rain.  Anyway here are a few photos.
