USS Langley AV-3, Trumpeter, 1/350

I'm calling her done. 14 months and a week, not bad time, but I was hoping to squeeze her within 12 months. I've use 3D printed add-ons for the first time and i have mixed feelings. Guns were nice and carefree, but the boats needed copious sanding to get rid of print artifacts. Crew from ION Model, I'm a big fan of them, good poses, nice intricate detail, way finer than the North Star ones I used before. Outstanding - my favourite model this year.  The detail and crispness of build is just Superb.  The mast alone is a marvel and the figures give it scale and set it off beautifully let alone the aircraft

Dang that came out out nice! The finished ship is fabulous but it’s the aircraft and figures that really make this build stand out. I will use your WIP as a master-class guide to aim for when I get around to my Langley. Bravo Mick!

14 months, would've taken me years. Very impressive work all wound; deck gantry, aircraft, figures, just brilliant. Well done.

Thanks a lot for nice comments. I'm glad you like it. I knew I'm going to build her from the moment Trumpeter announced they're going to market her in that version. I need to take a break from ships, so there'll be more faster smaller projects coming out of the pipeline in the near future

Personally, I'm not a fan of flat tops, but this abomination is actually quite cute, and do have a charm. As far as your model goes, well done Sir, 10/10!!! All together great model, congrats, and I just hope you will treat us with a new one soon. 👏

Yes Zoran, I think abomination is proper term in this case  I'll 'treat' you with a few planes and tanks first, but after that it'll be Black Cat's Buttler type DE.

Why does this sound eerily familiar... So far 2 AC done, three more are on the bench, and a couple of AFV's are in the line... So far USS Atlanta doesn't cry strong enough, from the shelf

Saw this live at the weekend at the IPMS Nationals.  It is simply stunning.  Of course it won Gold.  
 

I spoke to the judges, they could not find a fault or blemish.  100 / 100 points.  Brilliant..

Wonderfully model ship, and no effort spared on over a dozen aircraft. Nice to see that a few of the crew have found time to loaf around on various parts of the vessel.
