mick b Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Despite seeing stunning 1/144th scale models at Telford on the competition tables that probably don’t get the recognition they deserve I do wonder what demand there is for such sized kits. I don’t see modellers crying out for more 1/144th kits so it’s all slightly surprising. Mike
Graham Boak Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Can I put my hand up? Although I grant you that I'm not generally seeing the sort of subject I prefer in this scale, I'd point out that the numbers of models of aircraft in 1/144 scale have been increasing in recent years so someone must be buying them. It was the appearance of the higher quality ones that seem to have spurred this on, and the the growth from nothing of 1/144 military subjects may have been another influence. Perhaps the increasing tendency for 1/72 and larger scale kits to have hundreds of parts, many marginally capable of being handled, may also be a factor. 3

Graham Boak Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 It rather looks - although the picture is not completely clear to me - that Valom have not taken on board that the torpedo bomber had a different ventral gun position to allow for the Monoplane Air Tail. If proven wrong, I shall buy the kit.
