Here's wild one, but hear me out. Since there is  a B-17 STGB currently, why not show some love for the ugly duckling (to some) of the Army Air Corps. Very simple , B-24 or any of its derivatives, PB4Y, B-24A-N and if you would care the XB too. Both dual and single tail are eligible. Also since this is a big model for some, I'll waive the 25% rule for anyone that has started but never got their project across the finish line. Just think of all the possibilities with that great big wall of fuselage begging for a mural. Any one?

Well, I'm in of course. The only problem is the availability and price of decent kits in 1:72 scale. I'll get me one anyway 🙂 V-P

Well if we make it maybe Enzo can put us late in the year so we'll have more time to save up. Oh and you're added by the way. Thanks for wanting to come along V-P:thumbsup:

It's the same with the 1/48 scale. People think that the old Monogram kit should be priced like it was an HK kit.

Of course. Consolidated -Vultee had nothing on you when it came to building a B-24 as fast as possible  for its first flight against the Enemy!

I built one a long time ago, it's time for another!

I have a Koster PB4Y conversion (well, a copy of one) so this would be a good opportunity!

Nice job Alan. Much better than my attempt many moons ago. To which it sits disassembled in the restoration dept waiting it's turn. The Koster conversion is a pretty good kit as long as it's not your first vac conversion. Mine was my first conversion AND my first Vac. I got as far as getting the fuselage done. Then it sat above my old computer monitor(not a flat screen, kiddies) for almost 2 years before I picked it up again.

Oh before I forget my manners,..... Welcome Aboard!

Definitely here for this one. Not the prettiest thing but such a significant aircraft and an incredible example of American industrial might. The RAAF operated 300, but that number is almost a rounding error for the total 18,000 odd production run.

Hello,

I'm interested.

I don't ONLY make B17s, as I have three Liberators in my stock. Participating in this group build will motivate me to finally build them.

And don't three forthcoming buildings represent three votes to boost this future group build? :D

Regards,

Eric-Snafu35

Oh I wish. That would make life infinitely easier. But in any event Eric. you is added. Welcome aboard  and your 3 Liberators!

I think the GB proposals should merit from the number of engines in the prototype. Thus, one B-24 would equal four, say, P-47:s! Ok, I'll get me 🧥

Hello everyone,

I think that reposting this thread would be good for publicity,  don't you think so? 😀

Imagine all the B24 assemblies we could see here. And we could discover colourful aircraft, like assembly ships.

And the surfaces of the B24 also allow you to see some pretty pin-ups! :hypnotised:

So who's joining the group?

Regards,

Eric-Snafu35

Well it would be just plain rude not to, so count me in.

These were based locally for Coastal Command so if we are successful it will be one of those.

Anyone seen @Rabbit Leader I believe he's fond of a B-24

Cheers Pat

Here I am and I'll nominate to add my name to the list just to see your build Pat!

Fingers crossed my workbench will be clear and NMF enthusiasm will be peaking just before this GB potentially starts!

Cheers.. Dave
