Grey Beema Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Only just saw this GB. No idea how it escaped my attention. I would like to join if I may? Not sure what to build yet, I need to go through the 57 or so Fleet Air Arm pilots who won the BoB clasp and see if I can identify specific aircraft involved. I previously have built aircraft for, SLt Paul, SLt Jeram, SLt Gardner, SLt Cork, SLt Blake (Airfix Spifire & Hurricane in 1/48) so plenty of choices. Would like to have a crack at the Eduard Spitfire Ia, or Arma Hurricane I in 1/48 might also build another Fulmar, or if really pushed a Sea Gladiator. Or just maybe a Brendan Finucane Spitfire……. 1
LorenSharp Posted March 29, 2024 Author Posted March 29, 2024 Sounds like a great Idea. Welcome aboard. Of course you could just follow the "Enzo Rule". Build them all. 1
Hairy Stickler Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Evening All, Coming to the party a little late I'm afraid. Any room for a small one? I've got a 1/72 Arma Hurricane Mk I in the cupboard which should fit the brief nicely (unless I mess it up)! All the best Peter
LorenSharp Posted May 12, 2024 Author Posted May 12, 2024 There's always room for one more build. Like Jell-O There's always room. Welcome aboard! 1 1
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 When did Mk.IIc Hurricanes arrive in service ?

stevej60 Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 I'm still considering one of those once in a lifetime builds for this GB and Mulling over Trumpeter's 1/24 MK l Hurricane or at least Revell's newish I/32 offering common sence dictate's the latter! 1
LorenSharp Posted May 15, 2024 Author Posted May 15, 2024 Either way Steve,It'll be a really BIG Shew. Unless of course ,you decide to do both 1 1
jean Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Hi, can you please add my name to the list. I am very late coming out of the closet, because I did forbid myself to take part to this GB. I am proud to say that I was doing quite well, and could most of the time ignore it completely. And then... I am still trying t figure out what went wrong. I am sure I have a Spitfire that could fit the bill: good looking and pretty quick to build! Once more I believe that the Scottish Santa is to blame... We know where you hide, @JOCKNEY. Looking forward to this great GB. JR. 1 1
Barney1900 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Hello everyone May I be added as well? It would be my first GB and my Eduard Spitfire Mk Ia weekend edition should fit here nicely. As I have a strong interest in the Battle of Britain it will be most probably a scheme from the later half of 1940. 1

LorenSharp Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 BY all means Barney, Welcome aboard, and to BM and YOUR first Group build. The first of what I hope will be many.
shortCummins Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 I'd like my name to be added also, I've a nice 1:48 Eduard Spitfire that should fit the bill rgds John(shortCummins) 1
Richard Humm Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 I've got several kits for this period. I'm in. 1
LorenSharp Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 Less than 8 weeks to go before the Big Show kickoff. I've updated the list of joiners. I apologize for having not added anyone in a while that had requested joining. But as far as I can tell the list has grown to over 30+ now. CAn't wait to see what eveyone has come up with for their builds. My self I'm taking the "easy route" this time. A 1/48 Sanger H.P. Hampden, Classic Airframes Boulton-Paul Defiant, and Special Hobby Blackburn Roc. and if time permits a Classic Airframe Fairey Battle Trainer. 2

LorenSharp Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 Well let's just say easier than working on a subject boxed by HiPM. Which when comparing to the previous are simple straightforward builds. I can do those in my sleep

JohnT Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Oh bottoms - I said I didnt have the time but..................................... Time and tide and Britmodeller GB's wait for no man - apologies to Geoffrey Chaucer. Can I jog alongside? Would a 603 Squadron Spitfire Mk1 fit the bill? I'm from Edinburgh originally so there is a loose connection if one needed.
