Not a clue - I have no idea what one looks like...!! :)

Nice pics of some lovely cars!

Keith

Basically it's a rebodied Mk5 Cortina. Looks a lot like this:

Whilst on a walk with the family. An interesting concept but have to admit they never really intrigued me more than that.

Is the interesting concept the Reliant or taking a walk with the family? ;)

Obviously the reverse parking sensors not working or the tailgate lock not working....

I would say just broken down, but I'm not sure why it had been left where it is which would have risked damage. It is only a cars length beyond a long layby so no need to go bumping up the kerbs and in to the scrub.

Sorry did not mean to imply anything worse, but any form of broken will surely come with a hefty bill.

Well I think the family thought I was having a heart attack when I saw this approaching from behind, I can't tell for for sure, but I think thats a 1 of 6 XJ220S
(I only know this as I was planning on trying to convert one)

Definitely an XJ220. Not something anyone would see on traffic everyday...

On Saturday it was the local classic car show.  Lots of cars, loads of variety.  These are the ones that really caught my attention.

spacer.png

A 1977 Austin Allegro, complete with poo brown interior and quartic steering wheel.

A rather nice split window VW Camper.

A very nice Fiat 500 with picnic hamper on the rack.

spacer.png

1961 AC Aceca.  Don't recall seeing one before.

spacer.png

A Mercury Cougar.  Again, never seen one "in the flesh" so to speak.

My favourite of the day. A 1962 Austin Cooper (997cc).  Fabulously original, with great patina.  Must be worth a bob or two.

1986 Nissan Skyline Wagon.  Didn't even know such a thing existed.

And, finally, a lovely 1971 Gilbern Invader.

Thanks for looking.

Love the Invader, always wanted one of those being from a 'local' manufacturer! Used to rehularly see a lovely rally prepared one but not spotted it for a good while.

On Sunday on the way home from Hampshire on the M4 passing Cardiff, caught & passed (he wasn't trying!!) a lovely black 964 911. It was on foreign plates and had what looked like some kind of regularity rally stickers on the back window and doors. 964's are probably my all time favourite 911....

MX-5-based? Looks like a windshield frame from NB MX-5.

So... an MX-250.

I always thought the Invader looked like an Austin 1100 Coupe.

Now I'll never be able to look at one the same way again...!! 🤣

(still want one though as my first car was an 1100, so a sporty coupe version would be very nice!)
