What’s flying over your house #4

Recommended Posts

At about 14:00 today. Avro Lancaster at 250 to 300 feet did a RH turn over Caenby corner roundabout (A15 12 miles North of Lincoln.

Then came around again and did the same right in front of my house, just down the road from the roundabout.

Forty years of working on Military Aircraft and only a Lancaster can still give me goosebumps!

Just the Red Arrows, straight over the house. Quick wheel of St.Ives in two formations and they were inbound down to Duxford. Back over here at half four tomorrow returning to Waddington I understand.

Merlin H.3, ZH837.   Launched from Marham.  Flew over my house low and noisy enough to make the windows rattle.  Flew to Norwich.  Recovered to Maham, again making my windows rattle.

Oddly enough it wasn't showing up on FR24.  ADS-B had it though.

Airbus Helicopters A145 G-RESU of East Anglian Air Ambulance.   This is a frequent visitor.  Once again it's looking for a place to set down.

Edit: 32 minutes later it has just launched again, presumably returning to Norwich.

What a great view you have from your balcony! Great pic!

I didn't share these images last year, but the office had great views of arrivals to the 2023 airshow.  My workspace didn't have any windows to the outside, but the conference room had big windows where I could've watched flying things fly past the building.   During meetings, I would deliberately sit with my back to the windows to avoid watching things fly past and focus on the meeting.   I shot these images when NOT in a meeting or taking a break away from my workspace.😎

Many years ago I was an 'Assistant Purchasing Officer' with Sony UK - basically a dogsbody. We had a supplier in Feltham, Middlesex whose building was just nicely offset from finals to 27R at Heathrow - I would deliberately sit with a view out of the meeting room windows so I could focus on the things flying past...!! :)

Love that B-29 pic - would have loved to see one of those go into Heathrow....!!!

Thanks for the video. I was on the ferry when the USAF / RNZAF C-130 formation flew over last year, but didn’t see it properly as I was stuck where I was. Since then I’ve done a furtive check on Flight Radar before I board in case there’s anything interesting in the vicinity.

It was pure chance the C-130J was just going feet dry over Browns Bay when I had a look!

Finally saw a J, I've just missed them a few times as they're so much quieter than the H models! NZ7013 flew over just now, thought it was a Q300 in the distance but took a look out of my window anyway.

I see on Flightradar there's a P-8 flying circuits at Whenuapai too, so who knows, might see one of those in a few minutes.

LOVE the B-29 photo. And the Blue Angels livery looks superb on the Super Hornet.
