That's looking ace.

Question: what on earth are greeblies!?

Thanks. Greeblies are. Like what Pete said. Extra bits and bobs that get stuck on to make it look better or at least more busy.

Johnny, I just found this one. Wot they all said, it looks great.

@Trevor L Greeblies are add on bits that weren't in the kit but they usually enhance the end product. Have a look at some Sci Fi scratchbuilds.

Thanks Pete.

Hey! Sunday update. Had a wedding to attend yesterday so only a small amount of bench time today.
I gave the static grass applicator a go.

53193282994_79268a7cbb_b.jpg

Not bad! I added a bit of dead grass too with a different size but Ill let that dry before adding more.
Wanting to move on with the build I dirtied up a wheel and glued the whole thing in place ready for water.

I darkened areas with some washes too.

53193476766_564399b13c_b.jpg 53193282959_35f4b157f1_b.jpg

I added some gravel and airbrushed some brown mud to tie it all together.

53193476736_dcf3576577_b.jpg

Now if I can just get the water in! This is much deeper than the water I did on my Phantom of the opera build.

53193014457_543fcdbdac_b.jpg

I used the hot glue to adhere the plastic to the base and hopefully create a seal.

Looking promising.

53193282934_a81c16e75c_b.jpg

Alas we have a leak!

53193674090_94a61fafcb_b.jpg

And the water is much, much more murky than I thought. Well it is what it is and at least its stoped leaking.

53193476771_e00329ba72_b.jpg

looks pretty convincing really. Ill leave that to dry then I can go at the whole thing and get this done and dusted.

Thanks for dropping in. All comments welcomed. Hope youre all having a splendid weekend.

Now I see what you're up to!

Great stuff Jont.

BTW, with all these RC cars all you need is an airfield somewhere to try them out on.

With some friends.

Just saying

I don't know why, but I was thinking exactly the same thing....

I'm with others here, Johnny: murky water looks very appropriate, and the whole scene is just so realistic! :worthy:

Out of curiosity, though: why do you think the water came out murky? Is it just the reflection of rock and grass and dirt you put there, or has any of the dirt come off and mixed with it?

I think the murky water works better Johnny .... looks more realistic, especially as you have a rusty jeep partially submerged in it!

Keith

Yes I do like it. Just thought it wouldnt be sooo murky.

Well the water I bought is called murky water so I guess its pretty accurate. I only used a small amount last time so I couldnt see how pea soup it was. Its a shame I lost most of the underwater stuff but I kinda like the hints if a wheel and the tanks I submerged.

Hey guys. Im away with some of the other Britmodellers this weekend so Im trying to get a little bench time in before I go. I was a bit worried that the plastic barrier wouldnt peel off as it felt quite stuck this morning but it did come off quite well after a few more hours drying. I also added some streaking grime and rust.
mucking around with placement too.

53197383601_88cce4763b_b.jpg

Ill add some longer grasses and mat coat.

53197721725_12b322cbfa_b.jpg

But Im getting more happy with it now.

53197383711_5012a2f089_b.jpg

Ill need to make a bit of a masked base. Probably from plasticard. This will be painted black.

Thanks for stopping by.
Almost done now.
