hsr Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 This is the Hasegawa 1/72 Beechcraft T-34A Mentor. This is an old molding from 1973, but it was not a bad kit despite its age. The fit was decent and the only issue I had was that I was again not able to get the required 10gm of weight in the nose to keep it from being a tail sitter, But Hasegawa thoughtfully supplied a clear prop for just that eventuality. Also the decals were yellowed and thick. The only ones I used were the wing walks which I carefully trimmed. For the national markings I used Fantasy Print Shop ones and for the letters an numbers I printed them on my laser printer. I also added seat belts from a random Eduard set and control sticks from the junk box. I used Alclad Aluminum for the finish. Not much else to say so here it is. The decals for the AD-4N that I started in late May finally arrived today so next up I will be finishing that. Enjoy. 8
Tailspin Turtle Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I managed to get enough weight, just barely, ahead of the main wheels including a teeny bit of lead in the spinner to have it sit level. 1
hsr Posted July 2, 2023 Author Posted July 2, 2023 I thought about the spinner and replacing the propeller shaft with lead. But attempts to do that in the past have been futile so I just went with the expedient of the prop. Thanks
