This is my build of the rather elderly Italeri 1/72 kit of the B-66B which I have had in my stash for around 30 years. The decals are actually for a pair of RB-66B aircraft and I have done mine using a mix of kit decs and an old Almark sheet to represent a plane from the 19th TRS when it was based in the UK as part of the 10th TRW in around 1959. Here is a link to the build thread-

Rather a basic kit by modern standards but it goes together quite well. This particular first boxing needed a few extras adding but the later boxings of RB and EB versions should have all the modifications included as it was partially re-tooled apparently.

Not a particularly well known type, it was designed at the time of the Korean war to replace the "temporary stop-gap" Martin B-57 but by the time it entered service in 1956 the war had ended and the USAF did not seem to quite know what to do with it so the majority were produced as recce birds rather than bombers. They mostly had a short initial service life - this one was delivered in 1957 and went into storage in 1965, but then a few of them were reactivated and converted for electronic recce and countermeasures, and went on to serve in Europe and Vietnam. Rebuilt in 1967 this was eventually scrapped in 1973.

It was a simple enough build and rather enjoyable.

Fiat CR.32 NC262 3-51 flown by top Spanish Nationalist ace Comandante Joaquin Garcia Morato of the HQ Brigada Area Aviacion Nacional at Saragossa Sanjurjo in December 1937.  Italeri 1/72 kit with decals from the (for me) unbuildable Supermodel kit.

Not up to modern standards but quite well detailed and it went together fairly well.

Here’s an RF-104G ’Spillone’, in the colours of 132º Gruppo, 3° Stormo carrying an Orpheus recce pod. The kit is the recent Italeri reissue of the 1/72 ESCI kit from 1981.

Modelled completely out of the box, down to the slightly clumsy ejection handles. A lovely moulding, with nice fine detailing. Fit was good, the modular fuselage parts weren’t really an issue.

Italeri Fiat 131 Abarth, driven by Walter Rohl and IMHO a copy of the winning MK11 escort

A kit that's done the rounds and rehashes of many manufacturers since it was originally released by Esci in the 70s and it's showing it's age

This is the rebox by Italeri from a few years ago that I picked up

Fit of a lot of bits was iffy to say the least, and as I was on a tight deadline I opted to glue the bonnet shut and aleviate at least one of the major fit issues.

Rattle can finish with Tamiya TS26 pure white as I had some to hand, halford semi gloss black for floor pan etc. and the rest in Tamiya acrylics

Decals were fiddly due to their size, but behaved perfectly with microsol/set as the ones in the rebox kits were cartograph :)

As I've said, not the easiest kit to do, but at the end of the day, the body shape was good and gives a fair representation of what it's supposed to look like :)

Thanks for looking, and thanks to all who gave support and mojo to get it done along the way, that's what make GBs so much more enjoyable :)

Italeri 7061 1/72 Sd. Kfz. 124 Wespe (Esci mold)

https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235131391-italeri-7061-172-sd-kfz-124-wespe-esci-mold/

I finished it a few weeks ago, but I finally got it outdoors for some photos in natural light.

There are a few things I would do differently, but overall I'm happy with the result. The biggest problem with the kit is that it doesn't come with an exhaust, but otherwise it is nice and seems accurate.

Esci F-111A converted to a C using plasticard wingtips, spares box aerials, weapons and pylons from a previous build of the same kit, RAAF decals from the Hasegawa kit. Painted with Xtracrylix Forest Green, Olive Green Night Black, and AK Interactive Tan, finished with Winsor and Newton Matt.

Esci 1/72 AC-47 Spooky gunship, finished out of the box, except for a simple flare box I cobbled together so that something was visible through the open doorway. I was worried about how the decals might be, but @Planebuilder62 kindly sent me some spares. As it turned out, the Esci decals were absolutely fine, but I really like the Spooky nose art, so I have used a combination of both sets.

Kit has generally gone together pretty well, although fitting the wings to the fuselage required a bit of fettling. Brush painted with Humbrol enamels, mostly 116, 117 and 118.

Link to WIP;

And here is the finished article, with a big thank you for the GB extension!

Scraping in just before this GB finishes, a fine example to set as a host I must say !

Here's my Aer. Macchi C.205 Veltro only my 2nd Supermodel kit. A first for me with "Rub-on" transfers, but they behaved well :like:
