This is the Sword 1/72 North American T-28C Trojan. This turned out to be a very nice kit with very good fit, even the transparencies fit well. The only issue I had with it was that I did not seem to be able to get enough weight in the nose to make it sit on the nose wheel. I searched around for and appropriate prop to put under the tail when it come to me; use the tail hook. So I lowered the hook and now it sits perfectly. The decals were printed by Eduard and worked fine with no silvering. The paint schemes listed were 2 red/orange and white ones and a gray and white one. The gray and white scheme was too late for my liking and I have had issues with decal density where using the Red/orange and white schemes. Looking through the Frankel/Thomason "Training the Right Stuff" book I saw this all yellow scheme from on of the same squadrons and I decided to go with that.  So a very pleasant build. I just wish that all Sword kits were this good.

Next up will be the Hasegawa T-34A Mentor, although I have an AD-4N Skyraider 90% complete and just waiting for some decals to arrive so if they come soon I might finish that first.

Enjoy.

a lovely choice of colour scheme.

I like it better then the read and white. I am thinking of doing the T-34 as a "B" in the same scheme but, will probably stick to the "A" NMF.

Thanks

the challenging yellow scheme.

I think it's easier then the red and white one.

Thanks

I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your AD-4N Skyraider.

I am still waiting on the decals to arrive from the Ukraine but they should arrive later this week or early next. Mean while the T-34A is coming along nicely and should be finished next week also.

Thanks

Excellent build of this Trojan.  I am truly impressed with your tail sitting solution as it just seems so simple and obvious, but have never seen it done.  Might be using this trick on some of my other naval aircraft.  Also, impressive yellow finish, which I think is harder to do than a metal finish.  Thanks for sharing.

I will be interested in the T-34 also.  I'm in Texas during the summer.  It is always in the 100s for as long as I can remember.  It will cool off again in September and go back down to the 90s.  It makes working outside with the cattle and horses so much easier as they are not as active because it is so hot.  Does bring out the grasshoppers though.
