Something a little bit different here. It’s the Revell snap fix kit, but I fancied something other than the Hoth scheme. Given the expansiveness of the Star Wars universe, I figured there was a high chance there would have been plenty of chances for the Alliance to be operating Airspeeders on forested worlds, so I went with a camouflage look. Decals are from the spares box, mostly from the 1/72 Italeri F-5 in Swiss markings. Paint is Tamiya, the camo was freehand airbrushed, and the whole lot was weathered with oils.

The pilot is more visible than I expected, as is the gunner. You’ll have to take my word on that though as he’s impossible to photograph

The pilot looks happy with your camo scheme 😉

Great job with the painting and decals.

Nice to see it finally finished. And to see one in something other than white. Great idea.

Thanks Pete :) I'm very glad I went this route with it now, and I'll probably do something similar when I build the MPC one in the stash. Probably not the same colours, but definitely some sort of camouflage.

Hi James,

this is absolutely great and I like your reasoning for the camo scheme (I could easily see one in pseudo-Luftwaffe North Africa camo - dark green mottles over sand yellow). "Echo Base, this is Rogue 2!"

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks Mark :) Funnily enough, when deciding on the camo I mocked up some splinter camo options. I've got two more of this kit and one of the MPC ones in the stash, so that may yet become a reality.

Very cool, and an accurate assumption regarding g the use of these in forested areas...now do a desert scheme.

I'd certainly considered one. I've got two more of these and the old MPC kit in the stash, so I think it's safe to say one will end up in desert colours

It's great fun to play 'what if...' Very nice build. Now I'm wondering how it would look in battleship dazzle camouflage colours as required for all those coastal attacks....

Thank you. Funnily enough, when I was deciding on the scheme for this one, I mocked up a couple in varations of blue splinter camo, so something like that may yet happen ;)
