Hi Everybody,

built this one as therapy between some more difficult kits and the latest addition to my CBI collection

My latest go at Tamiya`s 1/48 Buffalo kit

Chose the RAF option from the choices in the kit as I`d done the others in the past

Built from the box contents with just a few additions ie: paper seat belts, with brake pipes, aerial wire and a ring gunsight from bits of wire

Nothing else to say really, a great trouble free build,

Hope you enjoy the pic`s, thanks for looking

Cheers Russ

Excellent work - I've always had a thing for the Buffalo and that is a lovely example there.. :)

That looks great Russ! I built a No. 67 Sqn Buffalo almost 30 years ago, but it's not as skillfully done as yours (needs refurbishment, I guess). The Tamiya kit is still a very pleasant kit. I'd say your finish is spot-on. Those RAF Buffalos look quite clean on photos (and they didn't survive long...).

Beautiful rendition of the old Tamiya kit. I admire the framing on that canopy, which is very poorly defined on the kit part so difficult to paint well.

Poor little misunderstood Buffalo.  It looks like it is a distant cousin of a Wildcat.  A stubby little fighter that worked well only in FInland for the most part.  Great rendition and have always liked the British livery on it.  Thanks for sharing.

Super Stuff Russ,

Love the faded, worn paintwork. Just looks like its been left outside too long and hard worked in between.

Always loved the portly Buffalo, and yours is a VERY nice rendition.

Thanks for sharing.

Russ,

Lovely work - I have this kit near the top of the pile and was planning an RAAF aircraft,

A beauty as usual from your hand Russ.. I love the faded look and the weathered look of the cowling. Well done sir!

Terrific build and beautifully painted and presented. I can't see a Buffalo without shuddering to think of the poor pilots attempting to stem the Japanese advance. The white outlined codes are new to me, did Tamiya provide them like that?

Thanks Phil, yeah the decals are from the kit

Russ…………I love it!!!!!!! :inlove:  FYI….the Brewster Buffalo was the inspiration of the moniker I use, “Sky Keg”. I’m sure everyone will know why. 😉

Great results Russ!!!

That’s really nice, this was the first kit I built on returning to the hobby a couple of years ago, suffice to say it’s not a patch on yours.

I do have another two in the stash and also the Special Hobby version on the way, it’s favourite of mine, can you tell.

I like the paintwork weathered enough I think, in hindsight I weathered mine far too much.

Thanks for sharing it.
