Marklo Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) I shall be building this Tin Lizzy But I also like this Thin Lizzy ( the joke in the naming of the band BTW was that as a lot of my compatriots pronounce their th’s as t’s, it’s also tin Lizzy) I love these instructions. A quick plan comparison, shoes it’s very accurate in shape. The detailing isn’t bad for a kit if it’s age ( raised rivets and panel lines, but I’ll live with them) and aside from the sparse interior not a bad kit overall. Edited June 24, 2023 by Marklo 4
marvinneko Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 I've got one of these too. I like the Lysander look. Canada used them for training, towing drogues for shooting practice and wearing yellow with black stripes.Looking forward to your build. 1
Marklo Posted June 13, 2023 Author Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) The kit interior parts with a bit of 1mm rod added to form the internal structure. Wings and spats assembled. Edited June 13, 2023 by Marklo 4
Marklo Posted June 15, 2023 Author Posted June 15, 2023 (edited) Moving on rapidly. It’s actually quite a nice kit and well engineered. Just need to add some pedals, a stick and some seat belts. I won’t add the Lewis as I don’t think he IAC aircraft were armed. Then I just need to mask the canopy and I’m ready for primer… Edited June 15, 2023 by Marklo 2
CliffB Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 A lovely old school kit, with proper instructions! Great to see, Mark 1
dogsbody Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Too bad that most of the images won't load up so I can see them. I've been having this issue with Postimages for a while now. It's either them or me but I can't usually see anything. Chris 1
Marklo Posted June 16, 2023 Author Posted June 16, 2023 Primed, I’ll preshade and start the camo tomorrow. 2
dogsbody Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I remember building this kit way back in the late 60's. Of course, it didn't look near as good as yours. Chris 1
Marklo Posted June 17, 2023 Author Posted June 17, 2023 Preshade on. I’m going for RAF sky for the undersurfaces. Dark earth next. 1
Marklo Posted June 17, 2023 Author Posted June 17, 2023 Dark earth, well Tamiya flat earth. Bluetack and tape on Dark green, Tamiya deep green After unmasking and retouching. Just need to remove the canopy masks 2
Marklo Posted June 21, 2023 Author Posted June 21, 2023 Condenser ring painted. And the underwing markings painted. Just the tail wheel, prop and some decals and it’s finished. 1
Marklo Posted June 22, 2023 Author Posted June 22, 2023 Prop, tail wheel and decals added. Just about finished I think. 2
