NoSG0 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 (edited) Jason Williams ex of the Sturmovik is working with a game studio. Interview here: https://stormbirds.blog/2023/05/18/combat-pilot-a-new-pacific-wwii-sim-coming-from-jason-williams-and-barbedwire-studios/ I am really going to need another larger storage drive. Alan P Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Bit disappointed to see it's set in 1942 rather than the more interesting later battles, but the opponents were more equally balanced at that time, so it makes sense from a PVP/campaign gaming point of view. 1
NoSG0 Posted May 18, 2023 Author Posted May 18, 2023 Fair point re time frame, but, I think that this gives them room to add the later USN Corsair, F6F etc etc. He already mentioned bringing the other combatants in the Pacific. RAF, RNZAF,RAAF etc. I hope that they will eventually allow some mods like the KI-83. There is a short survey on the main page. https://combatpilot.com/ Gosh I hope that this runs in VR well and that you do not need at RTX 4090 to get decent frame rates.
Chief Cohiba Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Dammit, that*s tempting. That soundsjust like another game I buy and then play much to seldom., mainly due to time issues. Which includes setup of all the hardware and storing it away again. 😟 But I can remeber ages ago when playing the campaigns in CFS 2, which I loved a lot, in a way I think that was the favourite of my combat sims, so this really seems to run down my alley. The setting can be the the perfect backdrop for a combat sim. I really would hope it will have some easy campaigns as well, that would engge youfor not longer than say 20 minutes to progress in a campaign or so. I definitely will follow the progress on this! 1
NoSG0 Posted June 7, 2023 Author Posted June 7, 2023 I never heard of the Target Rabaul dev group, but looks likes a few are willing to pitch in with research/info. I hope that this really helps the CP team to move forward. https://forum.combatpilot.com/topic/108-target-rabaul-dev-team-peril/
NoSG0 Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 Necro thread time: As far as I can tell, the team is still working away. These vids are from 4 months ago, but it looks promising to me. 2
NoSG0 Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 (edited) This will look great with some weathering effects. Edited May 14 by NoSG0
