Sorry, I just went off the size it said in the upload box. I’m on my phone at the moment, but I’ll sort it tomorrow 👍 Martin

That could mean I've either not updated the size, or it just looks bigger because there's a line of text above it. Check the FAQ before you change the pic size. It's getting late, and my brain's gone to bed without me

I've also reduced the text size so, as far as I can see, I'm under the 150px total now 🤞

charabon Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Greetings from Uruguay, this is the far south and the middle of winter. After some 40 years I'm taking up the tools and plastic again, I was away but kept reading all these years, mostly about airplanes. So it's back to the furrow. 6
Peter Taft Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Good afternoon one and all. Nice to be here. Look forward to reading ALOT and hopefully posting where possible. All the best. Kind regards. Pete. 2

dieselweasel Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Good Morning People. I am a returning member/Browser who used to be on here under the name of dieselweasel. It's been a rough year so far, what with losing three of my family and health issues (which we all suffer from time to time). Just glad to be back and wanting to pick up some tips and techniques. Bye for now Jim (aka Dieselweasel). 1

You still are, or was it a derivative or different spelling? We have a one user one account policy, so if you have more than one, we'll need to merge them. Let me know if that's the case
dieselweasel Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Thanks for all your help Mike, I only have the one account, couldn't handle any more. Jim

Incredibledisc Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Hi all, extremely mediocre modeller from Aberdeen here. I actually ended up at this site while researching a downed PRU Spitfire pilot and one of the members here had built a model of his Spit. Like a lot of people I got back into model making during lockdown as a way to occupy my free time and destress while teaching from home. I picked up a few Airfix starter kits and watched a lot of YouTube tutorials to learn how to paint them a bit better. Got some decent results with brushes, amassed a stash of kits and got as far as buying a entry level airbrush kit but then life has picked up pace again and I've not built a kit for ages. I figured ending up here was maybe a sign to reactivate my hobby so am looking forward to having a good browse through the threads here for some inspiration and some more tips to develop my skills a bit more. 3
Neddy Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 from another returner darn sarf in deepest Kent, about a dozen miles from falling off the edge. We don't recognise mediocre here, as previously observed in other threads there are two Golden Rules... 1> Enjoy your hobby no matter how you rate yourself. 2> See rule 1. If you ever get bored building things with wings, drop in on the vehicles (non-military) section - the inmates are mostly house-trained and the coffee's always on. 😁 1 1

Welcome to the family from a more or less longer resident. I’m from the Chicago area of the U.S. in case you're curious. Dennis 1
chip Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Hi Everyone , thanks for the add. I'm a 1/72 scale aircraft fan as well as a 54mm miniature painter. Started modeling again after retiring. 3
waghorn41 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 An ancient one here but new to the forum. Been making models since 1961/2, slower now due to osteoarthritis in my hands. Mainly make models of Hawker Hunters and aircraft I flew in or my family flew. Third generation RAF, we go back to the days of the RFC. 5
Peter96 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Hi all, I have been modelling most types for around sixty years now and utilising the information on Britmodeller for a while and thought it time to join in with this enthusiastic site. 6

AdrianH Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Hello from Edinburgh! Another long-term lurker who has finally decided to enlist. I started building models when I was a kiddie, then switched to things that go up fast and come down slow - provided the rocket's parachute works, that is. Then, while wandering round the stalls at an air show, I found a Hurricane kit on sale for what I reckoned was a pretty decent price for the time, and that was my introduction to Airfix Mk II. Then Covid put a stop to the rocketry, so I restarted building non-flying models of flying things, and haven't looked back - although I do still sometimes also build things which go whoosh. 3
Beej Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Hey all, I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. As a kid, I built planes and ships (very poorly) and as a teenager I built cars (decently), but then moved on to other things. Now, in my early forties, I picked up modeling again, this time airplanes, all WWII so far. I started with a simple Spitfire from Revell just to knock some rust off. It came out decent but rough around the edges, although I was happy considering it was the first model I'd built in 25 years or so. Now in the process of building a B-17G and hoping to have a higher quality product this time. As I've been searching around the Internet for tips and inspiration, I kept landing on your site, so I finally decided to join and share. Thank you for having me, Brad from Colorado 1
bootneck Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Hi Brad, great to have you here and I hope you get as much help and enjoyment as I have over the last 15 years or so. There are lots of members here who have loads of information, on almost all subjects of modelling, and most are only too willing to provide helpful advice. Some members seem to be mobile encyclopaedias, I don't think that I have seen many model related questions that haven't been answered by someone here. I class this forum as a two-way interaction, where we can help and share with information and the only expectation is to see your models as you progress. cheers, Mike
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Hello Brad … from Northeast of you in Chicago. I’ve been building since 1979 and nothing really makes me want to stop. I’ve slowed down in the last couple of years from health issues but thats about it. Personally I mostly build military aircraft, though will take on the odd piece of armor or the occasional ship now.I’ve been to Denver once and it was a nice visit, even though it was for work. Rover HMS45 Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Thank you so much for your welcome. Needless to say I have been around for some years as I think I am an Spaniaed with British heart and ancestors (Northumberland), addict to British food and any kind of mechanical stuff put in service by Brittons since the Victorian era. I drive and old Rover in my day, now my kettle is working for some tea, my doughter has been Christened as Victoria Alejandrina and, being a modeller myself, you know how many mental diseases I could own. I do not know what kind of music you play, but I can offer myself as Producer if you play some kind of Prog Rock, Canterbury Scene or such. 2
Yorkshire HODL Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Hi, Sam here, glad to be onboard. As like many on here, built kits as a boy and now returning to the hobby now I am retired. Looking to get advice on the 'modern' ways. 1
