Mike
Hi from Mike and the Mods, and no, we're not a boy band. Just in case you wondered Back in the olden days when I was young and you were even younger, I used to make it a point of welcoming the new members to the forum when their threads popped up here. These days, with the size of the site, the amount of "stuff" that needs doing here and there, and my health issues (cough, wheeze, Zzz...), I don't always get the chance to do so. That's why I'm here typing this Pinned thread now, as the last thing we want is for you guys to think we're out of reach in our ivory towers, as that's far from the case. I'd like to personally welcome you all to the site, hope you enjoy your time here, and take advantage of the wealth of information that's been written down over the years and the other stuff that still resides in the heads of the membership. All we ask is that you're polite and respectful, and appreciate any assistance you get, and that's most of the rules right there. There are a few practical ones that you'll find dotted around in the relevant areas, so make sure you have a look at some of the pinned topics at the top of the area you're new to. Enjoy yourself, join in, and you'll get out of it what you put into it, probably more. We're glad you're here, and look forward to chatting to you over the years to come. Mike & the Mods. 19 2 1

Christa
Hello Britmodellers Ballaugh is the only place I have lived with 'laugh' in its name. Ballaugh is not twinned with Giggleswick. I don't know why. I build models from time to time - planes and boats and vehicles civil and military, usually from kits, but scratch building has happened. My builds aspire to standards I see here, but seldom meet. Associated reading is a lifelong pleasure. Online images are an expanding treasury. Cheers Christa

JRB
Greetings from the far Western desert in Arizona, USA! Thank you so much for accepting me into your clan. Although I've been to England a couple of times past, it will be like getting to visit all over again. Looking forward to picking up tips from you Brit experts when working on British models. Has been years, but planning on getting back into it once I retire, which is looming in the near future. One question, how does one update their personal profile? I see where some have put down their "interests -i.e. AFV, boats, etc."? Thanks much! Jeff

Watto
Welcome to the forum Jeff, from what you say, retirement must be even closer now and I wish you a very long and happy retirement when it comes. I finished two years ago and I can tell you that I've enjoyed every minute of it. Happy building🍻👍 Watto, Derbyshire UK.

I’m mostly a military aircraft builder but do other types for a change. Medically retired here (Disabled), doesn't stop me from building and buying models though. Much to SWMBO’s great consternation. Plus, any term with a dotted line under it has a link to a definition: simply pause the cursor over it and the definition will appear. Some are a bit of a surprise - you might get some interesting ideas for your Annual General Meeting - but they're helpful.

Steve Barnett
Hello all. More of a lurker than a poster but thought I'd put my head above the parapet. Ex-member who got back into modelling during covid with a Revell 1/350 Bismarck build, but have struggled with motivation since. A few of the members might know me from some of the aviation forums like UKAR and FC. Looking forward to the show in Perth in a couple of weeks.
kelly zee
Hi from Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Excited to be part of this community. Back into the hobby after almost a 30 year hiatus. Currently working on a TOW Humvee that was sitting a box for almost 7 years! Figuring out my new airbrush and trying to get my old Testors Aztek to work. Not sure what's going on with it, but the YTubes is a big help. Big fan of WWII vehicles and aircraft and looking forward to seeing some great kits! Thanks again!

SprueFarmer
Hello Gang, Im a new member from Canada. Built a few models as a kid, and now that my kid is building a few models of his own, I’ve gotten back into things. Mostly airplanes, mostly in 1/72, mostly Canadian/UK themed, but I’m game for anything that’s cool. Hoping on jumping into a group build, and looking forward to hanging out virtually with everybody.

Stick
Hello all, 👋 I'm keen to rekindle an old modelling habit, and very encouraged by some of the amazing pprojects and friendly banter displayed here on BM. Best wishes Stick
SnøMotion
How do to all Much like @Stick above, I'm returning to this activity after a long time away. From the little browsing I've done here, this seems like a really friendly place! Not something that can be said about a lot of forums these days. Anyway, I have a few things on the go that I'll post up in the appropriate place and I look forward to seeing what everyone else is up to. I'll also chuck a photo in the mugshot thread 👍 Cheers Martin Edited August 30 by SnøMotion Putting the content in another thread
