1/16 Takom Renault FT "Rule Breaker"

Fiddly bit done! I've been fretting about getting these chains fitted for a while, but all four of them are done now. Not so bad after all. With these and other bits that I've done today, the hull and running gear can finally come together.

Closing in on completion now. Hull and tracks will go together tomorrow, slap some paint on the turret, and Bob's your Uncle.

Getting excited now! The turret and rear skid are painted and ready for a few washes. The engine hatches have been pried off and I'm about to dirty them up a bit underneath.

Moriarty has knocked it off those negative waves, and I might just hit the original deadline. KUTA 2023 here I come :)

I'm still nibbling away at this with the odd spare hour that I get. My job always goes a bit loopy at this time of year as projects rush to complete before the December change freeze, and it's the trail running season so I have a lot of muddy fields to run around at weekends.

The 'to do' list is getting shorter even though I seem to keep finding more to do. But 5 things: driver hatches, engine hatches, turret weathering, rear skid weathering, towing chain. Done a bit on 4/5 of those today :)

Neeearly done! I popped off the driver's hatches only to find unpainted plastic on the inside, So I've hastily splashed a bit of paint and a wash onto them before I glue them on open later.

There's still loads that I could do, but I've just got that terrible urge to start something new... something small.

I finished it over the weekend, just waiting for some better daytime light now to take a few pictures.

Thinking about what to build next, I decided to apply some rules that would help get my stash under control - so I'm now building them in chronological production order. That tiny thing is a 1/35 Russian T-18 from 1928.

Fantastic result Ned . Yes i too have the urge to start something small .

I like the idea of having constraints around what I can build next. I'm suddenly excited about models that are 2 or 3 down the line.
