Hi @JOCKNEY

ย

Can I ask you to add X-Scale to the list of approved manufacturers. They are relatively new to the game but are proving popular with airliner modellers. I believe the guys behind X-Scale used to do design work for Eastern Express but following the invasion they established their own company to produce and sell what would otherwise have become Eastern Express kits. There was a bit of a spat when Eastern Express accused them of theft totally missing the point that the situation only arose because their country was trying to steal bits of Ukraine.

Thanks @Skodadriverย I'll do that thank you.

I've also realised Donetsk Toy Factory is missing so I'll add that at the same time.ย

There are also a few re-pops of Eastern Express kits being produced by X-Scale for others - eg 26, Airline Hobby Supplies and Kitshobby (on eBay) all have EE kits produced by X-Scale in Ukraine which they're packaging with aftermarket decals and selling under their own brand. I've got a couple of 1-11s and a DC-8 this way, and I'm planning on building them in this GB.

Hello. First time group-builder here. I'd like to take part. :)

ย

I have a number of Ukrainian kits in my stash - is it ok to contribute more than one build to the group build?

Yes its is. Just start a new build thread for each one as you go on

ย

To answer an unasked question; you can build a kit the same as somebody else is building. His will go into his collection, and yours into yours

Welcome to this Group Build (GB) Alain, and the fact it's your first is great newsย :yahoo:

ย

Just as Fred said, you can build as many kits as you like, the more the merrier,ย  and sometimes a particular kit is so popular it turns into almost a GB within a GB !

ย

Great to have you with usย :like:

My contributions to GB's this year have been shameful, in that not have been finished. Here I am proposing to join another.

ย

My contribution will be the Roden B-Type bus. My requirement is for a ww1 bus butย  neither the military bus or pigeon loft version seem to be available at a reasonable price. Therefore I have purchased the civilian version and downloaded the military instructions from Scalemates. I should be able to complete this in three months.

Brilliant, and good to know. I do have an ICM Ghost of Kyiv kit I'd like to have a go at, so happy to hear that duplication is ok. The other one I thought I'd attempt is the MicroMir De Havilland Swallow.ย

Ladies and Gents we are up and running,ย  if anyone fancies co-hosting with me I would love to hear from you.

No previous experience necessary just a willingness to encourage others with their builds while trying to actually trying to build something yourself !

I hope to be doing this kit in the GB, but I've got a few other builds to get through first. It's a Ukrainian kit of the aircraft of a Ukrainian ace, so should fit in well with the build - as it's an early ICM kit, I don't know about the fit of parts, or what the decals will be like.

Silly question as I look at my stash for a candidate; do ukrainian decals (print scale on another companyโ€™s aircraft qualify) or does the aircraft need to be from a Ukrainian company?

Okay add me to the list. I started a MiniArt P-47 back in June, but then Summer got in the way and the cockpit isn't even painted yet,ย  so it qualifies as it's less than 25% built.ย

I never realised Toko were from the Ukraine. I have several of their kits but unfortunately they are the Eastern Express re-boxings so it would be inappropriate to enter them here, but I have plenty of Roden WWI planes and a fair few tanks from other Ukrainian companies that I can do if I have time. Given the fun I had with some Roden armoured cars, their biplanes could be a little challenging as the struts and the like will probably be fragile, so I can see my Contrail/Aeroclub strutting coming into play. It was originally bought for a batch of vacform kits I intended to build, but after 30 years I decided they would never get constructed by me so passed them on to other modellers. Now it may just prove to be useful after all.๐Ÿ˜„

Hi mate

Ideally the majority of the model should be from Ukraine,ย  so if for example you have a Donetsk Toy Factory kit (Frog made in Ukraine) but the decals are like the Novo ones ie self destruct upon contact with water, then replacement decals are OK, as the kit itself is from Ukraine.ย

Likewise if the kit was from Ukraine but you wanted to use parts to convert it then provided the majority of the kit was still from Ukraine that would be OK as well.

However the opposite would mean the majority of the finished model is from elsewhere and therefore isn't in the spirit of this GB.

I'm sorry if that means a rethink of your choice for this GB.

These are the ones that came easily to hand - should find something to do out of this lot.

I believe there are a couple more in my roof somewhere including a Roden Gotha. I seem to remember adverse comments about Roden's "lozenge" decs but whether that was about how they go on, or about the accuracy of their colours I don't recall. I have some aftermarket lozenge which I may end up using if I build the Fokker E.V/D.XIII and/or D.VI. If they are still viable I have some old White Ensign Colourcoats German WWI paint. I also stocked up on rigging wire with this GB in mind.

Not a worry I have a Dora Wing Lysander in the stash Iโ€™ve been eying off. I think that will end up being my choice for my build.

Hi Pat

ย

Can you add me on the list with a special opportunity to build a Clear Prop kit.

This will be : Mitsubishi Ki-51 Sonia in 1/72. So far I haven't chose between CP72011 and CP72013.

Just got a notification on my phone that a parcel is coming today. It's got the AMP SOFIA 747SP in it. I think this might have to be built straight away!

IMG-1383.jpgDid a bit of stash organising this morning and these are the Ukrainian kits . May have one or two more in my desk.

The Gladiator is earmarked for next years ( hopefully it will get through the bunfight) Gladiator STGB ( I have two, as happens the IAC had two schemes for the Gladiator) and the F.2B is actually a DH9.

ย

Spoiled for choice Iโ€™m thinking the Ford ย Junkers and the Spit.ย
