That left getting the outer wings done with the locking mechanism for holding the folded wings in place

Then sprayed some oily black for the exhaust stains on the wings from the engines.

At this point after I attached the wings I discovered it became a tail sitter and changed to ramp to the proper incline which also acted as a brace to keep the rear from tilting back.

So the Candygram has been delivered to Mr. Mongo and with it My my rendition of a very Ostentatious paint job  for a C-2A Greyhound.

I wanted to get a second Transport done before the end of this GB , a Combat Models Vac  C-46 Commando, But there won't be enough time to get it anywheres near completed in time. That kit will need A LOT of work, so it will be religated to the main build area at a later time.

I want to thank everyone for tagging along and giving all the comments , suggestions and encouragements. I also want to thank  @Robert Stuart,, @JeroenS, and @Pin for putting on this little clam bake. I'll have my finals up loaded to the Gallery in short.

order. So until next time Stay safe, stay healthy, and Model On!:pilot:

That's an outstanding build and finish! That must look fabulous in your display cabinet.

Thanks, I wish I had a display case. but it does have a prominent spot on the shelf. After I made a pant correction that is. I discovered I had made an error wile looking at another C-2A build here in the GB. It was pointed out that there are no boots on the inner wings, just the outer wings. Of course I had to correct this issue. And here is the result..

I'll update my final images in the Gallery here in a bit. This what happens when I do too many builds at one time. I don't catch the errors until long after. I did the same on another recent build. Thankfully I was able to correct that in time as well.

Beautiful! This is a difficult scheme to pull off, and you have done a great job. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. It was a challenge to get right. Now if you could come up with a decal set for the NF-104A Aerospace Trainer, Life would be perfect:D

Wow Loren, what a beauty. I hadn't been following this, wrong scale & all but having had a wander through here now, I'm impressed like anything. :) These are a seriously cool aeroplane & your take on it is absolutely mind blowing. 👍

Steve.

The cargo bay floor I painted Aluminum stripes down the length for the tie down runs and noticed there was a very large drop from the cockpit to the cargo area. since the forward hatch will be open I' made a set of steps. I couldn't find any reference to what is actually there, so I used a little artistic license

Very beautifully built. I am taking your build for reference to my C2A build now.

Just for info, there is indeed nothing at the access door. It is a drop from the cockpit but I noticed an oval panel in the middle of this drop. It’s likely a stepping hole with a flip cover.
