Hi, Jerry.

I've just read about your woes in receiving an incomplete kit from this company.

I've bought from Kingkit on several occasions and have (so far) had no issues. It seems very strange indeed that they would post a model from the UK to Canada and did not even have a look inside the box. Could the person packing it not have taken an extra 60 seconds to check the contents? Shoddy, in extremis.

One aspect of this I find very difficult to account for.... as I'm sure you're aware, Kingkit have a "Started / Incomplete" kit section on their site, where they go to the trouble of photographing all the present kit-parts and their condition. I wonder if your kit should have been in this section, but was accidentally put in the "complete / as new" pile, instead. Even so, someone REALLY should have double-checked it before shipping.

I wish you the best of luck in getting this issue resolved.

Cheers.

Chris.

PS: I remember seeing a message on the opening page of Kingkit's website a while ago. It heavily implied they were the world's largest kit-traders. This is a VERY big claim and one that I'm sure Hannants, Sprue Brothers, Hobby Link Japan and many others would have a vocal opinion on. Clearly, the claim is not true.

Hi

it is a pity as it was my test purchase from them

there are a few other kits on the kingkit site i like but i am hesitant to buy them now

i usually use hannants and that auction site for my purchases

yeah i saw they had a scrapyard section

but the item i bought was in the complete kit section

and it stated

"Pre-owned kits are checked by us and are guaranteed complete and unstarted"

so I am just hoping they actually reply back to me either by e mail or by the PM i sent here

mistakes happen,  hopefully this one gets sorted out ok

i would love to get the missing sprue, maybe it is in the store somewhere and i can build the kit

   cheers

Glad to hear it!  TBH I was surprised at the problem as I've bought two pre-owned kits from them in the last year or two and both have been not only checked but properly re-packaged before dispatch.  Anyone can make a mistake (as the Dalek said, climbing off the dustbin) and I'm pleased your issue has been sorted out.

Hi

Yeah anyone can make mistakes, i made a few in my life

strangely they wouldn't send me the missing part, apparently it was to expensive

instead they refunded me, it must make sense to someone i suppose

so i have a 1:48 hawk 100 kit now but with no wings

So i am back to buying from hannants and that well known auction site in the future

  cheers

Looks like I spoke too soon.  I bought another pre-owned kit from KingKit and it turned out to be missing a decal sheet and a vital part, plus the largest part is distorted beyond retrieval.  I emailed them last week but they haven't even bothered to reply.  NOT impressed.

I'll see what a phone call can do.

UPDATE:  Phoned to find that my email was being addressed (first day back after Bank Holiday backlog) and they apologised and organised a refund.  Problem sorted, confidence restored.
