johnny akes Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 I don't recall seeing too many of these on here before, I thought I'd do it before starting Airfix's Mk. IX to see how they compare as build experiences: Shame about the bottom cowling coming adrift on this one: And to finish, one with the Tamiya Mk. XIII and Revell's Mk. IX: Thanks for looking J.A. 28
Winded Penguin Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Nice work on the XVI, and always pleasing to see a 'gaggle' of Spitfires in one sitting 👍 1
bigbadbadge Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 What a cracker, looks fantastic, great paint work . The group photo is very nice, they look very impressive. Great work Chris 1
Spitfire31 Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Beautiful Spitire! I really like that slight sheen on the prop blades and the slightly used appearance of the main paintwork. Also, the offset control surfaces add a nice impression of 'life'. However, there is a small blooper. 😉 Apparently, the flaps are up (which they should be on a parked Spit). But the flap actuators on the wing top surfaces are in the flaps-down position! They'd better be removed, with the little hatches covering the holes. They are not gear-down indicators: Kind regards, Joachim 1
georgeusa Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Great looking set of Spitfires you have there. Each one is finished quite nicely and together as a group it is impressive. Thanks for sharing. 1
Watto Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Great stuff, Spitfires finished nicely. Love the clipped wing. Good to see your work. 1

I’ll correct that straight away. thanks all for the positive feedback, much appreciated. 1
