If you are worried about them (or any transfers) give them a coat of varnish first.  Something learned with the water-dissolving transfers on early East European kits.

Well guys, tonight I completed my Hurricane in the very same scheme following this beautiful example from our friend Natter...

 

My decals behaved amazingly well, only one roundel fractured but I was able to recover it...just be careful during the transfer because they are fragile, but over a wet and shiny surface, everything must go smooth...

wish I'd read this tip before I used some decals bought off eBay on a build a few years ago.

 

You can obviously see my panic as the decals started to dissolve in the water tray (oh come on, you all know I mean a saucer!!) - I ended up masking the police checkerboard stripes which took a while to do. But actually worked quite well!

I think you've just invented a new product for the accessories/tools market.  Water trays for releasing transfers.  You could set up a sideline selling them for pets as drinking bowls.
