JBs A-7E Corsair II. VA-93 ‘Ravens’

@Hewy took me a while to figure out was HAF referred too. Sorry to disappoint you but it will be a USN aircraft. I will be using aftermarket decals to finish it as an aircraft operated from USS Midway by the VA-93 ‘Ravens’. Why these markings, mainly because it has a sharks mouth. 🙂

Net marking decals, yes the colourful era of the US Navy aircraft was indeed a good one. Fin markings were in abundance and the Corsair wasn't at the back of the line.

Being a Brit, I think it was the markings that got me interested in US NAVY

Made a start on some of the assemblies. Used the etch for the IP, thought it looked better than the decal but decided to use the kit parts for the side panels, had some nice detail.

Fuselage halves bought together, ready for glue. Didn’t fully appreciate how big an aircraft the Crusader was.

I am using the Wolfpack wingfold, comes with replacement resin outer wings, should make the surgery a little easier as I won’t need to keep the kit parts.

It’s out of the paint shop, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Gloss coated and a start made on the decals. I enjoy this part as I am always amazed how a few decals transform the look of an aircraft.

Finished this one. The F-8 was an enjoyable build, this one was the opposite.
I can’t put my finger on why but this became a bit of a chore to finish.

There are quite a few mistakes, it’s one for the back of the cabinet.
