aligraham
I am building the 1:48 Revell Phantom FGR.2. I decided to build the 2 Squadron machine which has the KB-18 Strike Camera. However i cannot find a photo anywhere which is detailed enough for me to paint the front face of the pod. You get a clear part to fit in the kit but clearly there must be an aperture where the camera is fitted behind this. Does anyone have any detailed photo of this front on? 71chally
The best picture of the pod I've seen is this one, unfortunately the camera window has the cover in place.
ReccePhreak
The KB-18 is a panoramic Strike Camera, which is not what was carried in that camera "pod". http://www.chancefac.net/FAC_Book/0-2_Dash_One/kb18_s4.gif According to the below site, "a pod-mounted strike Camera System could also be carried with F.95 or G.90 cameras." https://www.nationalcoldwarexhibition.org/research/collections/mcdonnell-douglas-phantom-fg1-nose-section-only/equipment-fit/ Larry Edited March 15, 2023 by ReccePhreak More info
Dave Swindell
Not a view through the window, but you can see the camer afit through the door, and there's another camera on the bench below - all you'd really see is the front of the lens jut behind a flat window.
