Marklo
Welcome again. Looks like a nice kit.
LorenSharp
Thanks Marklo. It seems to be a fairly decent kit. Little better fit than the Dora. At least no short shots.
Marklo
My D13 is pretty much the same kit , with a torpedo added ( which I think I’ll use even though I’m not going for the kit scheme) and it’s going together pretty well.
LorenSharp
In between everything lately lets see how far I've progressed, First things first, the office. The Hobby boss kit does come with everything to make a decent model. I did take a silver pencil to the raised panels to bring them out but otherwise just followed the directions. Though I will say the instructions as far as paint callouts didn't cover everything. So I used some guess work using the Dora as a guide.
LorenSharp
The one part that didn't really make much sense was the rear super charger portion of the engine. Which though its rather detailed, you'll never see as there aren't any access panels to open up.. If I had the entire engine, I could have removed the whole top of the forward fuselage to display it. But he instructions say to build, so I build.. One of these days I'll get the hang of this new camera, or t least not take semi blurry pictures. but it got a coat of K Titanium and a dark wash to bring out the details you'll never get to see.
LorenSharp
Adding those to the fuselage I did have to use a little bit of filler on the seam on the bottom of the fuselage. Far less than I usually do. I did mask off the seam beforehand to cut down on over using the filler and damaging the thin panel lines.
LorenSharp
Letting this dry for a day I sanded down the bottom, then gave everything a pre-shading with some flat black. that followed with several light coats of a bottle of Model Master Lichtblau 76 until I got the right amount of shading. The lower wing I masked off with some post-it notes and the bare metal surface with some Alclad II Duraluminum. I'll let these dry then begin the camoflage process. At least this time I dot need to add stripes to the bottom.
81-er
That's looking really nice, Loren. Is the top of the gear bay open and exposing the engine in a Ta-152 like it is in the Dora? James
LorenSharp
Yes James, It is actually open now that I have the pieces attached. I hadn't noticed before.
LorenSharp
So lets see how that section transpired. Attaching the main spar, wheel wells and the mg's After I got those parts sorted. I did a test fit of the wings to the fuselage and lo and behold, you can see into the backside of the engine. so that means I need to give that area a coat of RLM 02 You can just barely see the back of the supercharger.
LorenSharp
Attaching the two together. I did have to use a miniscule amount of filler at the lower backside of the wing root. The time for the camoflaggie. This time it was different from the Dora. Instead of RLM 82 bright green and and RLM 83 dark green, it was RLM 75 Violet gray and RLM 83 dark green with dark green mottling.
LorenSharp
After letting that dry I went through and used a dark wash on all the panel lines. I'll let these dry then begin the process of adding the decals.

LorenSharp
After a slight delay, it's about time to wrap this party up. After letting the dark wash dry I cleaned all the panel lines up in prep for adding all the decals. to be fair there weren't as many as usual. Stenciling got a bit fiddly, this kit didn't have as much as the Dora I just finished. I let these dry then everything got a coat of matte varnish. From there it was a matter of adding the last of the "bits", landing gear, antennas, canopy. And before anyone comments, I forgot to take pictures during that phase. So I'm repurposing some of the final images. Senility.... Almost like Deja Vu' all over again. If I could remember it in the first place.
LorenSharp
Finally, I used some of my PollyScale railroad Oily Black for exhaust stains and soot around the guns on the fuselage and wings a drop of Mirror paint for the navigation lights base followed with Tamiya Transparent Red and Blue for the lenses. So there you have it. I wanted to do one more Ta-152 this time an "H" but its a vac and there's not enough time and this is a Falcon Vac which will take A LOT of work to look decent . So it will have to wait for another day or GB to see completion. But I would like to thank @Marklo and @Corsairfoxfouruncle for putting on this outstanding GB. I'll get my finals up into the Gallery momentarily. Until the next time Stay safe and healthy and keep on Modelling! 7

Nice thing about the Hobby Boss kit you don't need to do any corrections. Pretty much builds itself. I did have to print out a new tail wheel. The carpet monster devoured the kit part. But one of the most care free builds I've done in a great while. Unlike a certain "Stealthy" Bombers Bomb bay that has been a chore from the outset. And still only a quarter of the way completed after 2 weeks of solid fiddling. So this kit was a welcome respite.
