tempestfan
Can Galaxies taxi sideways? That pole is indented right into the mid wing tip, but there's no visible damage on the forward wingtip...? 1
speedy
Could it have been turning?

All to do with the various radii of turn between main wheels and nose wheel.

Coors54
Had a Voyager do this in St Johns on a training sortie, a week before Christmas too. It hit a building (slightly bigger than a lighting stantion....😳) To add insult the marshaller on that wing was an ex pat ex RAF liney, he bought a lot of beers for the repair team! We had to truck the replacement slat up from Miami I seem to remember. Then there was the DHL 727 freighter bringing horses into Coventry that hit a hangar as it turned onto stand, and I was responsible for AA's Twin Pioneer dinging the port wingtip as we manoeuvred it. When it happens it happens quickly and you can't quite believe it's happening m'lud, as @Roland Pulfrew says it's swept wing growth and surprisingly common. But not as common as movers driving ground equipment into large stationary aircraft.......🤣 Dave
