AntiRevisionismEnjoyer
Anyone tried it? I'm kinda broke rn so being able to save on thinner would be handy. If not, does Tamiya X-20A work well for thinning them?
ColonelKrypton
I have just starting trying AK 3rd generation acrylics and have so far had good luck with water, distilled might be a better choice; depends on the your tap water. AK 3rd generation acrylics are a water based acrylic and you should not use Tamiya X-20A thinner which is a blend of alcohol and water. Water based acrylics generally don't play well with alcohol. Of course, the AK Interactive thinner would be the better choice all round but Vallejo airbrush thinner would be a good choice and it wouldn't hurt to use a bit of AK retarder. cheers, Graham
Yes_Man
For airbrushing I really can only recommend their own propriety thinner. I've tried a lot of different thinners with them and even X-20A, which is usually pretty versatile, doesn't play as nice for some reason. Thinning with water for brush painting is perfectly fine. Tim R-T-C
I brush the AK 3Gs and tap water works fine, these are my favourite paints for brushing. (however their colour choices can be suspect, the RAF Greens and Greys are definitely a little off)
