Hasegawa 1/48 F-4B

Recommended Posts

Inspired choice Stefan, especially in 1/48, my only worry is with the GB finishing in July, will you have enough time left to get all the decals on ?

Good luck with this one

Cheers Pat

Built one of these when they were first release with Microscale decals for VF-102 with full stencil data!

USN/USMC F-4s are still one of my favourite jets/modelling subjects despite not having built one in years, having an Academy J and Tamiya B in the loft....

Hi, Pat.

Thanks for asking.

The last couple of months, I have spent practically no time  modelling. Work, matters around the house that needed to be taken care of, etc...

It wasn't all gloom though, some were pre-planned fun outdoor activities.

I'm hoping to get back into it, but I must limit myself a bit in what I take on. I considered a 1/32 AH-1G for the large scale GB, but that's not going to happen.

The F-4B is actually  the best candidate to get built in time. Some work was done on it already, I sprayed a bit of white when I did the missiles for my Marineflieger F-104's. And I should have some time to work on it before the dead-line.

Cheers, Stefan.

Hi,

This build will be mostly out of the box.

The cockpit got some Furball decals.

I've also added a side panel on the starboard side of the rear cockpit. Hasegawa has such a panel in the F-4J kit, but at the time of the F-4B kit they apparantly didn't know about this.

There are two such panels in the Zoukei Moira F-4J and F-4S kits (one for each type), so I got one from there.

Hi,

This morning, I noticed that "Part 2 Hardener" of my two-component white by Mr Paint had become goo inside its bottle. I thought I had closed it tightly enough, but...

I was able to get a couple of semi-fluid drops out of it and mixed them with "Part 1 Paint". It sprayed on beautifully, maybe it will take longer to harden.

Cheers, Stefan.

Hi,

As you probably expected, this is another one that will not be finished in time.

I can't blame the issue with the paint, even without that I would have run out of time.

The paint looks good, but I'm going to leave it a long time to harden. To use up the remainder my "Part 1 Paint" bottle, I think I'll use it on missiles and droptanks that I can set aside for a long time.

I like this old Hasegawa classic and hope to how it here in about a month or so.

Cheers, Stefan.
