Andrew Patmore
This is almost certainly not the right place to post this since I have not started the build, but not sure where else to put it. Planning making a 1/48 Armory Flycatcher. Which is way above my paygrade! What is the best wire to use for suggested 0.2mm pushrods? Brass? Was going to have a go at adding 0.2mm lead wire as ignition leads. Should I go 0.3mm to differenciate between the two? Kit instructions also suggests 0.65mm styrene for struts. Thinking Brass? Not an easy kit, I know. But have a friend who's Grandfather flew them, so will have a go. Advice gratefully accepted.
bigbadbadge
I used .33mm brass rod on mine, and the leads were 0.2 mm lead wire. The exhausts I made out of 0.8mm lead wire. I built the older lindberg kit with an armoury engine. Good luck with your build. Chris
rob Lyttle
Wow Andrew, I just been googling this, looking like a fantastic project! Don't know the answers to your questions but it would certainly be an interesting build to follow. I guess you might get better feedback if you placed your enquiry in Military aircraft/ inter war but I expect the "ones with the knowledge" will find you here. Looks like there's plenty of enthusiasm for the kit here on BM

So why post it here in works in progress knowing that its in the wrong place and the Mods have to move it? A quick look in the forum contents would have found modelling tips... Or you could have PM'ed a mod...

Making the exhasts from wire is probably a good shout as the resin ones supplied look as if they woul snap if I look at them sideways. 11 hours ago, rob Lyttle said: I just been googling this, looking like a fantastic project! Wait until I make the thing before calling it a fantastic project! 10 hours ago, Greg B said: So why post it here in works in progress knowing that its in the wrong place and the Mods have to move it? No worries Andrew, I made the exhausts as they weren't present in the engine kit I bought. Chris
