Ah. My apologies Pat, I haven't kept up with all that's going on in GB-land. Sorry to put you on the spot. :)

Anyone else wanna have a crack? @Paul J , would you host if @Jabba and I sign on as co-hosts? Hosting is firstly a job of selling the GB to the BM denizens, so that they join in and VOTE for the thing in the bunfight. Once the GB gets a place, you negotiate with @Enzo the Magnificent for a suitable time for it to run. Then once the GB starts it's simply a matter of staying in touch with GB entrants in their build threads, encouraging them and playing the genial host, as well as answering the inevitable "But what about this variant?" questions that arise (although you've pretty well nailed that door shut in your proposal!)

You will have my support (for whatever that's worth, I did a miserable job of hosting my own GB) and honestly it's not all that onerous, especially if 3 of us share the load.

I am happy yo be a co-host.

Remember that this is for next years GBs not this one.

With @Richard Humm adding his name to the list, only 4 more names required to get this GB into the bunfight. Lots of schemes to choose from, especially some ot the special ones.

I think this build is for Spey powered Phantoms of the RN/RAF. That and the F-4J’s the RAF used ?

Correct. The premise was originally Spey Phantoms, the UK Js were added as an afterthought. But it may not happen, there's still noone willing or able to host it.

I am able to co-host, but work commitments preclude me from hosting.

I will host it if it gets through, I wasn't aware there isn't a host. So lets (us) get it through the bunfight and I will take over.

So far a good response.  I know there are a couple  in progress here but maybe, if this gets off the ground, another could be added. I am s ing my FAAAirfix one and my last Fujimi kit in the black Mike box.

If there are any volunteers who would like to act as host /co host   please feel free to step up.

So far the below have shown interest:

1. Ray S

2 Corsairfoxfouruncle.

3. Thom216

4. Chrisj2003

5. Retired Bob

6. Stefan Buysse

I volunteer to help.

@Corsairfoxfouruncle if you're willing to host, I'll come on board as co-host, and I think that @Jabba said he'd co-host as well.

We'll let @Enzo the Magnificent know what's going down, and get you installed as the boss. First order of business might be to do a roll call and see if all those who've said that they'll play still want to take the field.

Although I have never done this I am willing to co-host. Glad that @Corsairfoxfouruncle you have taken up the mantle of hosting. I think that there are still 3 places required before this gets into the Bunfight.

Thanks to all those who have stepped up to host

and are keeping this GB going.  But I  must apologise for my lack of support as I  have not had the mojo to do much. I'll pop in time to time and give encouragement as and when.

I know there have been previous GBs on the Phantom but how about a purely British Phantom GB? No foreign variants allowed just any of the UK built Tooms. Any service, no wiffs, any scale. Any kit that is available , Airfix  Fujimi etc.

Ok looks to only be 5 more or none ? Depends on whether Enzo the group build moderator decides if this is a single type or a Standard group build ?

@exdraken are you still interested seeing as its only RAF/RN operated Phantoms ? If so please let me know.
@Ray S, @Thom216, @Chrisj2003, @Retired Bob, @Stefan Buysse, @franky boy, @theplasticsurgeon, @zebra, @Luke1199, @Colin W, @John Masters, @Marlin, @Marklo, @shortCummins, @RMP2, & @roy107

Seeing as Im stepping in as host I would just like a confirmation on your interest if you're still up for this build thank you.

I'm definitely still up for this one. And can't really see how this wouldn't be a STGB?

As far as I am concerned, yes. I was always treating this as a Single GB, but that does depend on how @Enzo the Magnificent sees it.

Im not sure either thus my questioning it. It could be single type based on type (Phantom) or on user (UK). So I think it’s a single type but will let Enzo be the final answer.

I agree however I just want a definitive yes from Enzo.

Hi :D

I don't know that much on the FGR.2 and I'm about to purchase some AM set for my Revell 1/48 kit.

So I've got a question I hope someone can put some light on.

Was the exhausts nozzles open or closed on the ground? :hmmm:
