Airfix 1/76 Tiger I Tank - A Tale of Two Tiggies

My build of the Airfix 1/76 Tiger I Tank (A01308)

 

Last July I got a bad attack of "Modeller's Block" and stopped modelling completely. It wasn't until December 2022 that I dared to make a kit once more. I decided that I would do a quick OOB of the ancient '60's Airfix 1/76 Tiger I but as I started, I couldn't leave it as a basic build and ended up going to town with some aftermarket stuff and scratch-building. I know it isn't completely accurate and some of the 1/72 aftermarket stuff is a big overscale but at least it looks more like a Tiger than the basic Airfix offering. In the end I knocked out another Tiger OOB over 36 hours so that I could compare it with my "work of art".

Two very enjoyable builds which have restored my mojo! I now need to keep it by not committing to too many builds at once....

Both nice builds of this old kit Dave but there is no doubting that the AM on the camo one really does give it a far more convincing look. 👍
