hairystick
If it's a victory, mark it up! I'd like to have seen the MiG29 kill marking on the U2 aircraft though.

Hockeyboy76
It’s good to see the most advanced fighter in the world used to shoot down one of the least advanced flying machines ever produced.

Not much air up there. Astounding work from the USAF.

noelh
We need a new picture. It's three now plus a balloon. I did a bit of research online and it's likely they are mini airships, originating, guess where? Photos exist. https://www.ibtimes.com/unidentified-high-altitude-airship-spotted-flying-near-south-china-sea-photos-3649678 The lack of information from the US is probably to avoid the diplomatic spat we saw with the balloon. The fact that they haven't even released a reasonable description of the 'object' implies a cover up. Fighter pilots have good eyesight. This is a 'We know what you're doing but we're not going to give you the opportunity to deny it' scenario. All great fun and intriguing. Slater
So far, four balloons - four AIM-9X kills. Maybe they should give AMRAAM a shot at these
