Hello @exdraken, and welcome!

This looks like a very interesting kit. I am very curious about how the construction is designed. The real jet looks great, looking forward to watching you putting the kit together. Enjoy your time here!

G'day Werner,

Nice choice! I have not seen this kit before so this will be an interesting comparison with the KH kit. I can see one advantage already, you have a one piece fuselage, two hours to go until the kick-off (in Oz anyway!)

cheers,

Pappy

Hello @exdraken

how‘s the kit coming along?

I met a colleague today I hadn’t seen for a while, we were talking about austrian times. Given your name exdraken, do you know a certain Wolfgang Kopf from Graz? I once flew with him.

thanks everyone for the motivation!

I finally broke it open and started some sanding and dry fitting!

this IS a short run rit, so do not expect wonders regarding fit ;)

bit shape seems great, and fuselage parts aline so far :)

wing not so much... have to figure out if to sand or to fill ....

I’m no great expert, but I think filling is the way I’d go. I’d be using plastic card to pack it to hopefully create a strong wing to fuselage bond. Also helps if any touch ups to panel line are necessary.

It looks like a really nice kit. But come on Kinetic, where are your F1s?

a bit more parts preparation, washing the resins, sprue cleanup,  etc...

I guess I will leave that open

white metal air brake, I guess I will leave that open as well ;)

Those petals were a bit beefy, but the detail down the pipe looks excellent. Nice progress.

yes, exactly, but I thinned them down a bit, and now looks way better!

the landing gear assembly is a rather beefy approach

some sanding still needed to close the fuselage, but I am confident!

huu..

some updates would be great... or at least some progress :(

lets see.. maybe we get an extension for such an important GB?....

 :please:

Good evening exdraken

You should contact Enzo I guess that he will need a few days/weeks extension too as he has recently started a triple build of Mirage 2000 kits

Best Regards

Patrice

I had to take the landing gear beay construction out again, it simply would not close up...

WxiNwGM.jpg

moved it to the port side, and also glued in the cockpit cosntruction.

this is not Tamiya or Hobbyboss (Helix) fit quailty of course! .. ;)

Wr6WEV7.jpg

now I seem to have reasonable fit,... time to close her up!

No way!!!!! not a grey Mirage F1, or... maybe Mirage F1DJ!😉 Lagarto (?) scheme is better or one of the two BE painted in 1990-91 in French blue scheme, or... 😁 A French F1B overpainted with Spanish markings!

Be careful, front place instrument panel of the grey Spanish two seaters are very particuliar, not modernized as single seaters, but neither the same configuration of other Mirage F1B... 😉

Looking good there @exdraken!

Do you use liquid or gel type CA for this job? And how long do you let it set before sanding? Not too long i guess?

Gel type, first sanding is semi hard state.... still always a great mess ;)

RWR, chaffs/flares dispenser, location of the VHF antenna, by comparison with French version, location of the nav lights on the end of the wings, antenna underbelly in front of the keels, and if loads are envisaged, Sidewinder instead of Magic with the appropriate pylon... and no S530F. 😉
