1/72 Academy Curtiss P-40M in Finnish guise

Recommended Posts

Hello

Another finished build with this 1/72 Finnish Curtiss P-40M which actually was some sort of a gift from the Soviet enemy in 1943.

The decals came from the old V7269 Ventura decal sheet.

At the moment I am clearing my huge "in progress" boxes as this one was started many years ago.

Clearly a well traveled aircraft, being given by the U.S. to the Soviets and then from the Soviets, probably not so willingly, obtained by Finland.  Great use of a different livery and the finish of the kit is superb.  Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic craftsmanship, that's a beauty!

The more I learn about the Winter War and Continuation War, the more fascinated I become, like the way the Finns used captured aircraft against their former owners.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,

Mark
