35th Scale Land Rovers Models Design for 3D Printing.

All of these CAD renders have been taken periodically over 2022, each vehicle has been modeled from separate parts items like the engines and gear boxes have been designed as single items, chassis frames, suspension, drive shafts, axles, door and other parts are separate parts (80 parts make up one of the vehicles) all designed for 3D printing.

The parts and the vehicles were designed according to workshop manuals and individual component drawings, and a lot of help from owners of the real historic vehicle owners.

Some are designed as conversions for the Italeri 109" Kits and before anyone asks Yes Mike @bootneck is aware of these and has helped me with the Series 3 Ambulance conversion.

The next stage is to start test prints of the parts and once I'm happy with everything I am planning on making the files available for purchase buy others

The radio and vampire vehicles are void of any internal parts as I could not able to get anything on the equipment and considering it is still in service quite right too.

Wow great resource.  Are these designed to produce a single piece vehicle print?

No none of the models are just one print the forward control versions have the most part counts as they are so unique, but the normal Land Rovers None light weight shown use alot of parts from the Italeri model.

I will be making separate parts available engines and detail parts.

They look very good. Will the Series 1 and 2 be available also?

John.

The new AK kits and the Tamiya/Italeri models will give the series 1 and 2 vehicles.

Lets hope who has designed the AK kit has got the basics of the 88" correct.

Pic no4 has the Defender front panels and bonnet on what looks like a series 3 body. Will you be doing a full Defender and Wolf spec? Excellent work btw

Thank you for your comments Neil

I don't intend on doing a Defender I designed the defender front and bonnet for the Centaur as the real vehicle has the front of a very late production Series 3 with leaf springs fitted chassis but with Defender front panels as when the Centaur was developed the Defender was a brand new vehicle. (There are plenty of ref images on line showing the real Centaur)

I added the Defender panels to the CAD model just to see what it would look like.

@PeteH1969 For those of us who do not possess and will never be able to afford to possess a suitable quality 3D printer and don't know anyone who has one handy, will you be making prints yourself to sell?

I still have all of that to sort out but at the present I want to get all of the parts to print reliably and to a good standard first so that no ones money gets wasted, it would be silly to release something for sale if it has not been tested fully.

CAD models look great. Would love to get some of those.

I used to have a lightweight. It was huge fun.

Hard to tell from the images, but the wheels all look similar sizes?

Short wheelbase had 650s although a lot of owners have fitted 750s.

Most long wheelbase had 750s.

101 had the 900s, as far as I remember.

Superb kits and i look forward to production. Definitely interested in the Vamp and the lightweight. Good luck with the progression. When Vamp kit is released I will share it on the EW Regimental sites it will interest the operators.

Fantastic work on the renders, I wish I had the patients and skill to be able to draw these. Alas, I'm a hands on modelmaker, old school! I do like the Lightweight, would be good in 1/24th scale.

The RC project looks very interesting, I'll not spill the beans!
