Mak_the_Knife
Hi all, One of my "soon" projects is a "1/72 Ghost of Kiev" diaroma and I'd like to have a fuel truck with it, but can't seem to find much info on what they use, most of the articles I find currently deal with current war losses etc, and nothing about what they currently use. Thanks!
Old pro
Don’t know for sure, but I presume they are still using the old soviet ones based on the Zil or Ural chassis, if you go to the ARMORY website they have airfield vehicles https://armorymodels.com/product-category/resin-multimedia-accesories/1-72-afv-resin-kits-conversions/
Kingsman
KrAZ are Ukrainian so it's a racing certainty that they will have some of that brand. They haven't been buying Russian kit for a long time, but have been hanging on to older Russian kit, and KrAZ have enjoyed export success against Russian brands. This is the new/current Army tanker on the KrAZ 63221 chassis. There is a 4x4 too. I think this might be the air force version, here on the 63221 (left) and older KrAZ 260 (right). They used to have some based on the even older Soviet-era KrAZ 255. Might still be around.

cicarista
And in 1/72 there is new KrAZ-255B truck available from Russian company AVD https://www.scalemates.com/kits/avd-models-1581-kraz-255b--1441759 and really good looking conversion by another Russian company https://www.scalemates.com/kits/all-scale-kits-72204-ac-85-255b-tanker-conversion-set--1450720 Unfortunately, both being sold only in Russia, hard to come by
Kingsman
There are non-Russian stockists but they all seem to be out of stock, unsurprisingly. HobbyTerra, I-Modelist, ModelsUA, GDKits, Modelimex. There are some very cheap - and a bit nasty - 1/72 KrAZ 260 kits available from China on eBay. You may be able to do something with one of these. No tankers, just truck and tank transporter. GBP £6 for the truck https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325393139441?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Kh96oph9Qdu&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=tfogwmfnta6&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
modelldoc
You right, this kits are snap-kits, but you have an acceptable copy. BTW, they are also cheap. This is my truck: https://www.flickr.com/photos/21603181@N08/52617250984/in/dateposted/ modelldoc
sandsmodels
i have some of those kraz 260 trucks, they are fine for super detailing, cheap and easy to get hold of. also ideal for conversions, not all of us want super dooper really detailed kits, just something to work with, the tank transporter trailer is fine added to the fabbri diecast maz 8x8 truck converted to a 5th wheel tractor. Dmitriy1967
In the photos, the Ural and ZiL-131 cars are most often visible.
