I also thought about weathering an object, that's used frequently under water and otherwise being kept inside a hangar of the mother ship and I came to the same conclusion. Oh yes, I am really tempted to get this Jiaolong kit too, and as far as I know, Trumpeter released or will release two more kits of research submersibles.
