exdraken
Just got thus today in a surprise swap 😀 Chances are high I will start, and hopefully finish this Helix, in appropriate Ukrainian 🇺🇦 markings!     just need to do at least some basic research about kit and helicopter.   Anything I should know before starting? Any important issues with the kit?
Pappy
OOh, I was tempted by this kit so many times but for some reason managed to avoid buying one. Very keen to see how this one goes together as I have not seem many on-line build. I belive the Spadgent did one a while back,  cheers,  Pappy
Bertie McBoatface
Excellent choice exdraken. This helicopter must take the prize for being the most insect-like of them all. I like the unconventional layout very much.

If I ever see one at a good price I’ll snap it up.  great choice Exdraken, I’m building the Zvezda kit in 1/72 and have a couple more in the stash so there’s a chance that another will put in an appearance
TonyOD
They're like double decker busses, them Kamovs... you wait for ages and then two come along at once... Â Splendid choice, welcome aboard! Edited January 29, 2023 by TonyOD
Bobby No Mac
Always had a soft spot for the quirkiness of the Helix family and I'd love to get this kit, but - like @zebra - I'm perpetually holding off in the hope I might find one going for a more affordable price.  Looking forward to seeing this being made

exdraken
first plastic cut  fuselgae dry fit looks good and impressive! rather a chunky dragonfly   ordered resin seats, masks, and especially decals from Begemot... although the scheme will basically the same, the kit ones look a bit thin in many aspects....

heloman1
Great choice, the contra-rotating rotorheads will benefit from some parts replacement on the pitch change pushrods. I'll follow your build with interest. Â Colin

Thanks Werner,  I remember using some vinyl masks once, they were black? They fitted reasonably well but found they did not stay stuck very long and began to lift almost straight away. I have been a bit iffy about vinyl masks since but will watch your build to see how this brand performs,  cheers,  Pappy

zebra
Looks nice Werner. Wish they'd scale it down to 1/72 - the Zvezda kit is ok but it's about the standard of a late 70s Airfix kit
exdraken
more on this one, this time the other side of its interior  still plastic only  not trurs it seems, we have a metal hex shaft here alfeady! and who would have thought it..... you get a functioning gear box!!!! that is if I do not f...- up means that if nothing breaks gets glue or paint on, we should have counter rotating 🧬rotors!
