This is my entry for this GB. It is the PJ Productions (High Planes) Mirage 5RAD of the Abu Dhabi Air Force around the time of the Gulf War.

This is my build of the Hobbyboss 1/72 Rafale C with Syhart decals for a plane marked up to celebrate the Centenary of SPA93. Not perhaps the most accurate of kits but it builds up well enough - here is a link to the build thread.

And here are a few photos.

DSC08269-crop DSC08267-crop DSC08265-crop

After making enquiries with other modellers I decided that it should be painted in something like FS36293 and was going to mix something as shown in the decal instructions, then I stumbled across a MIG paint that was claimed to be that shade. It is very sensitive to lighting and can go from a fairly dark colour to quite a light one but the above pics taken outdoors are pretty close to what I had hoped for.

Thanks to the organisers for another enjoyable GB.

Kinetic 1/48 Mirage 2000C

Armée de l‘Air, 2012

So this year we will have the exercise „Air Defender 2023“. The outcome and learnings of that event seem to be clear in advance, and can be read on the white papers by Professor Justin Bronk, senior fellow at RUSI.

With that in mind, the closure of the Airbase 103, Cambrai-Epinoy, and the suspension of the based forces there, was in my opinion a mistake. But I digress.

The jet I modeled for this group build is a Mirage 2000C, sporting the colours of the maintenance squadron 2E.012, which kept the jets of the squadrons „Cambrésis“ and „Picardie“ flying.

Anyway, here is the model:

I think this is the first (but hopefully not the last!) completed prop plane of the GB--a MB 151 of the Hellenic Air Force. I built it OOB with the Dora Wings 1/72 kit. It is the most expensive kit I've ever purchased and certainly not the best, but in the end, despite frequent frustration, I have to say I enjoyed it. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I didn't do any weathering to it... don't really feel like it needs any up top, but the underside could have used a bit of dirt in retrospect. Oh well, here she is! Thanks for the GB everyone, and especially our hosts!

The 1/72 Hasegawa Kfir C2 built OOB in IAF colours. One I've looked to do for ages, with a degree of trepidation about the decals for those huge triangles on the wings, as it turned out, they all went down pretty well using the method of bedding them in a dilute Klear solution.

WIP here.

The Kfir has long attracted me, a hot rodded Mirage, what's not to like, I can see some more in my future. :)

Mirage 2000-5F

Here's my 1/72 Modelsvit Mirage 2000-5F, wearing markings for EC 1/2 Cogognes. This kit was only realised a few months ago and I've built it straight out of the box, painted with AK Real and Mr Color lacquers

A few trials and tribulations along the way, as detailed in my build thread here:

Finished-ish

But I am pleased to have finished it, and even more pleased to have participated in this GB! Thanks to our hosts @TEMPESTMK5 and @Sam, and everyone else who participated.

Merci bien!

Gerard
