1/12th Scale Scrap Yard

Recommended Posts

Another iteration of my scrap yard. This diorama is a transient affair, set up on my work bench for photo sessions when I’ve something new to add to it, and then cleared away again. It would be nice to have enough space to leave it set up, but that’s not practical in my house.

The additions which prompted today’s session are a Corvette Stingray, built from a very old Monogram kit, and a Jaguar E-Type, a brand new Norev diecast which I’ve just ruined. I’d already nicked the Corvette’s engine for another project, so it made sense to portray it as a non-runner. I’m currently working on a later Revell version of the same kit, which will be a nice shiny hot rod.

That's extraordinary. For me the mini sitting on top of whatever it is looks fabulous, and exactly how I'd imagine a car scrap yard. I also can't ignore the dead leaves sitting around the place :wow:

A big block C2 Corvette, sat in a scrapyard. Oh my.

Keep calm, don't show too much interest, keep things light. He might not know what he's got sat there...

'That one son, it's an L88 427 car. The engine is in the shed. So are the racing wheels. You interested?

Tony, The reason the C2 doesn’t have an engine is because I used it in this C1.

Thank you Zoran. What I really want to be posting next are photos of my Pocher Alfa Monza once it's finished, which should be within the next few months.
