Scimitar F1 Posted January 21, 2023 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Hi I was trying to work out what is the colour of the codes on the side of the nose of this 807 Sqn machine. it looks light grey but have seen some profiles where it appears to be Sky. John B (Sc) Posted January 22, 2023 Share Posted January 22, 2023 My memory of the scheme is that the codes were a faded pale blue. That could have been Sky, but I don't think so. This was a very long time ago, at Lossiemouth I think; I presume that same squadron because I recall the scinitar emblem. Somewhere I should have a photograph... Sorry if that wasn't clear. Here is a picture I've taken of my Model Art sheet 72/023. I think I will go with the pale blue. The Xtrakit 1/72 Scimitar has 807 NAS markings, but go with a slightly darker blue. 71chally Posted January 23, 2023 Share Posted January 23, 2023 I thought blue codes were carried on 736 NAS Scimitars, matching their lightning emblem on the tail. I thought 807 used Sky (as in the FAA yellowy/greeny colour used on Gannets etc) and I'm sure I've seen a photo of such, but would have to find it again to be able to back that up.
