viscount806x Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Just on that point, they would beat it on price wouldn't they ? £100+ or so for a Tamiya plus £60 for the conversion against £100ish for a Kotare kit. 4

AstroCanary Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Hopefully we will see some decals for Zumbach and Gentile's Buckeye. Better still a Vb Trop, Vc and Vc Trop, too!
hopkp Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Spitfire Va, Spitfire Vb (early).....talk about stringing something out for as long as possible! Kotare is obviously intent on following the practices of Peter Jackson, founder of its predecessor, WNW.....never do something in one part when you can make it into several.....I'll be a very old man by the time they eventually get to the only one I want, the Vc. 1 1
Karearea Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Hoping for a 485 Sqn. presentation Spitfire- not sure if the (Early) would cover that though. As above the Gentile Spitfire would certainly be fantastic.

Dont worry im sure they will get there before old age .its still a very young company but each sale leads everybody closer to the next subjects - i know what subject number 3 is (ie not a Spitfire or 109) and it should make a lot of us very happy ! And then there's the REDACTED and the REDACTED after that ,Followed by the much anticipated REDACTED I would tell you but Mark has trained snipers following my every move as part of my NDA. Sorry! 1 2

PeterR Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Hmm, am resisting this one, as I note are others, but it may be a good place to start for a Late Ia or a Mk II, rather than wait for Kotare to get to them.

Karearea Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 I just received an email announcing preorders have opened for the Mk.Vb. Schemes are: A = Spitfire Mk.Vb R6923 QJ-S, AR Wright, 92 Squadron RAF, May 1941 B = Spitfire Mk.Vb W3328 PK-T, ZZ Czaykowski & E Jaworski, 315 Squadron, October 1941 C = Spitfire Mk.Vb HL-C, FA Hill & E Dalrymple, 308th FS, 31st FG, 8th Air Force USAAF, July-August 1942 2
Jeff.K Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 (edited) lukewarm on the schemes presented, keen on the kit. i tend to prefer aces, or ships with unique or interesting backstory. any suggestions/options for early Spit Vb schemes? right now the front runner for me is Paddy Finucane's on the Xtradecal kit. I haven't checked the serial in Shacklady yet but it should be a legit early Vb. i'd expect there will be more decals released, as a Vb should be an even bigger hit than the Mk.I. i think Technmod do a Zumbach sheet, and some, maybe all, are probably Vb early (haven't checked serials). I'd be especially keen on Gentile's ship if decals exist, can't see cutting masks for his personal markings. Edited November 15, 2024 by Jeff.K
Graham Boak Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Wing Commander Minden Blake, coded MB, with colours exchanged on the pattern.

What characteristics do they refer to? A serial range would be helpful, if possible. I have asked Richard this question, without response. If companies are going to give us such products (and Eduard are another) it would be nice to know the basis of their product. I know not all modellers are interested in such detail and happy to model whatever, but some others are looking for more detail.
