Popular Post Gisbod Posted January 12, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted January 12, 2023 (edited) Hello all, Here’s Airfix’s rather splendid new Avro Anson kit finished in their RAAF colour scheme ‘B’ - an experimental scheme designed to fool U-Boats. They didn’t pursue it as it was deemed too much trouble to bother! The kit is a corker. I really think every release Airfix produce is better than the last. Lovely mouldings and I think the quality of plastic is better than previous releases too. I’ve also got their new big Spitfire on the bench and that is simply stunning. I made it on request in this option with minimal weathering. Nothing added at all - straight out of the box. It’s not a colour scheme I would have chosen and white isn’t the easiest or most most forgiving colour to model in, but I guess it’s quite striking. Quite fancy building another now in a good old RAF scheme, although I’d love to see this released in 1/72! Thanks for looking in, Guy ps…. I’ve accidentally slightly over sprayed one of the fuselage AW665 number decals, I don’t suppose anyone could send me a spare if you haven’t built the Aussie scheme - I’d obviously transfer you any costs incurred and a bit more to buy you a coffee! It seems to be one kit that makes all the interior work worthwhile as most of it can be shown off to great effect.
