Probably I will go on with a gloss coat, wash, decals and a matt coat.

If I am using a gloss coat for decals, I tend to use this process - gloss coat, decals, then another light gloss coat to encapsulate decals and protect them, wash and final finish coat. The wash, if your using one, then also blends in the decals. You're also then applying the decals to a clean gloss coat not contaminated by what wash you're using.

Nice job with the paint work on what is a tricky build and with the extra engine details.

The matt coat is not yet applied. I will have a few days break, we are seeing some friends in Khon Kaen over the weekend (did I mention I spend all winter in Thailand?)

More to follow next week.

Nice work there, Volker. I'd love to visit Thailand one day, there's some much of interest in their history & culture (not to mention the food! 😋 )

Latest state:

The engine is in positiion. Progress now is pretty fast as it is mainly assembling prebuilt and prepainted parts.

There is not much visible of that engine.

The u/c is also in position, Eduard provides PE even for that, brake line and cabling:

This build should be done with only a few moore hours of more work.

A-9 finished. Photography leaves a lot to be desired, photos were taken with my old phone in the Thai morning sun:

I had a lot of fun with this build and I am quite happy with the result.

Next I will do an A-8 also from JG301, but in 74/75 and with everythin in closed position. Should be much easier 🙂

Great work Volker, that’s turned out very nicely. And well done for tackling one of these early Eduard 190’s.

You find my tips and tricks for that in the STGB chat, page 11.
