This is moving along at a steady pace. Nice work so far Francis.

John.

Hi John,

Many thanks for your like and interest, It really is a kit without major problems, with some time and desire you can make a lot of progress.

Very nice clean build Francis, its look s great. I'm looking forward to seeing some paint on this, It'll look fabulous...

Hi Ed,

Many thanks for your likes and kind words, There are at least two of us now...🙃, I think so, it's a somewhat "monolithic" model since it doesn't have a turret, but it has a certain elegance.

Hi Roger,

Many thanks for your like and interest, I'm also looking forward to seeing how it looks with paint, I have doubts about what the scheme will be...🤔

UPDATE 3:

Hi Pals,

A little more work on the kit, not too much, the base coat, in primer red, all over the model, with some difficulty on the inner tracks, but little by little most of it is covered. I tried with some of the schemes proposed by the painting instructions, and although they are very pretty (ambush), I have not been able to do something that I like, either because of the color, or the amount of 3-color spots that have to be masked. ..so I've cleaned the kit at least twice (an even worse job than making tracks...lol). That's why there are only photos of the base layer... I've decided to do it in Dunkelgelb alone, because I've seen at least two JTs in the forum with that color, and I really like them (both are brilliantly finished), so I'll take inspiration from them for mine.

Thank you for watching and commenting.

Cheers and TC

Francis.👍

Just a suggestion but leaving it in its dark red primer would look rather nice too. 👍

Hi Stef,

Many thanks for your like and interest. It's a good idea, it hadn't occurred to me, thanks, although I'm going to be a little more ambitious, I'm going to see if I can carry out plan B, and do it with Dunkelgelb, if it doesn't convince me either, then plan C, primer red ...LOL. I have a modulation set of that color, let's see how it turns out...

It does look striking in that primer, but the dark yellow will be better.

John.

Hi John,

Many thanks for your like and interest,

It is true that with a coat of paint, the model changes a lot, and a vehicle that has just left the factory would be cool, but I think that the sand will be easier for me to work with, and it was also officially Plan B...lol

Hi Francis. Hope you are well. Wow!! Stunning work as always! The build looks fantastic and it looks brilliant already under it's red base coat! Looking forward to seeing your amazing paintwork going on.

Hi Stix,

Well, I've been better, I'm going through a rough patch, but we hope things get better soon, with "little scares" (fortunately they've stayed that way), but they don't leave me calm, although I've also been worse ...let's see if the good interval arrives...lol.

Regarding the model, well, I would have liked an ambush camo, but I don't feel like masking right now...so I went to plan B, the Dünkelgelb, which I think will work well.

The first Red, it would also be something nice, but as I said it would be the Plan C...lol

All the best and TC

Francis.👍

UPDATE 04:

Hi Pals,

Some more work with the model, in this advance, I have already begun to add the color that it is going to have.
I have tried with an AK modulation set for Dünkelgelb, and I have been doing some shadows and lights.
Then once dry, some chipping, trying not to overdo it, with the subsequent weathering, some will possibly disappear or be attenuated, with the idea of a vehicle with a short use in time, but in terrible conditions (end of conflict and subsequent defeat )...
The parts that will have another color (such as tracks, tools...), later I will paint them as they should, I'm not worried that something has been stained, it seems somewhat rough, but it's easy to fix and it helps me move forward.🙃
I like the aspect that it is taking on, it is still somewhat raw, and its square shapes are not very aesthetic, but I believe that when you add all the small pieces and start with the weathering with a brush, it will begin to take interest and break the linearity of one single color.🤔

Thanks for watch and comments as always.

Cheers and TC

Francis.👍

Yes it looks better in it's outdoor clothes than it did in it's underwear. Nice work with the chipping also.

Hi Stef,

Many thanks for your like and kind comments, i'm glad you like it, It still has to improve, this part is one of the ones I like the least, because the model still looks very raw...

Hi John,

Many thanks for your like and kind and funny words , she is a big and rude girl, but very modest...😅.

Some meticulous work, already done, little by little, she is taking interest....

That yellow and the modulation works great. This thing looks heavy! Great work @FrancisGL

Hi Maddoxx,

Many thanks for your like and kind words, i'm glad you like it.

It really looks heavy, especially when you see the "Saükopf" of the barrel, it is massive....

Well Francis, you work so far is superb!  👌 It was great looking through the thread at this taking shape ....

The finish really does reflect the size of the thing!

Hi Keith,

Many thanks for your like and kind words, i'm glad you like it..

You're right, little by little, it seems to take shape, and it's a little more interesting. It sure had to be intimidating to find one of these up close, pointing at you, inside a Stuart...🥵

Hi Stix,

Many thanks for your like and kind words, much appreciated, i'm glad you like it.

I hope so, it's not green, so I'm a bit out of my comfort zone, so I hope I find the right weathering for this color, and that it suits my taste...🤔

Hi Rob,

Many thanks for your kind words and interest, i'm glad you like it.

There's still a lot of work to do to make it interesting and nuanced... I'm looking forward to getting past this "raw" phase to start highlighting details...

UPDATE 05:

Hi Pals,

More progress with the model. It occurred to me to make small scratches with a cutter on the edges of the front and upper rear plates, as a way to cut the metal plate, I don't know if it's real, but I liked the idea, so I went ahead with it...

I have realized that the front and rear links must be left for when the structure is fixed in place, otherwise it will not enter because it is in the way and there is no possible passage.

Then, I have painted a side stripe on each side, with a "rust" type color, to simulate where the side skirts would be positioned, in anticipation that I do not place them, or only parts... I'll see later what I like further..

Some attention also to the spare track links of the casemate, with the main color (with brush), together with the main tracks.

Already with a little dirt stains with oils, and the decals, with which I have had some "silvering" problem, I don't know if because they are somewhat thick...

In some photos, it can be seen "assembled", with the superstructure in place, and the cannon with its shield, as it would be seen later with the main parts in place...

Finally, some color for the back plate, and previous color for the "jack", which has to be detailed later.

More coming soon (and I hope interesting...lol)

Thanks for watching and commenting as always.

Cheers and TC
