After some white was hosed over and into the intakes, sundry bits were glued together.

The spine piece gave me some issues this time but after some PPP it looks and feels OK.

Nice progress Alistair and going together quickly.  That is a heck of a lot of stencilling to go on.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

That's the bit that's bothering me.

Great progress on my favourite jet 😍

Thanks Tony,

I've got a bit of time off so there should be some progress.

Passenger!  Passenger!  🥵  I'll have you know that the Observer's course was harder than the Pilots!   😄

It's taken a while but I knew there would be a bite at some point. :wicked:

Not much to report today.

White, Insignia Red and Aluminium sprayed.

An oily wash was applied as well.

Not much progress but time consuming none the less.

I'll get this bit glued in tomorrow and If my experience of my last Phantom build is anything to go by much clampage and a few days will be required to get a decent fit.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

I seem to remember that the stencils took me about a week of fairly intensive work and that the small black ones were nearly invisible on the dark grey, resulting in a few being either lost of mis-aligned!.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not looking forward to them but will give it a go.

If I get the build done in decent time I should leave enough time for the stencilling.

Okay time for a small update and an explanation as to why i haven't shown what's been going on with this one.

I must have fitted one of the intakes wrongly and when it came to fitting the covers for them I had massive gaps at the bottom.

So, I've hacked away as much plastic as I can get away with and am now left to fill and shape to hide the error.

There is still some shaping to get a smooth transition but I'm getting there.

I knew the bottom part went on too easily.

Thanks for looking,

You'll fix that for sure. I'll bet nothing will be seen of this afterwards. Great work indeed!

Thanks Nick,

It's no big problem I'm only concerned that as I'll be posing her in launch position I'll need to get this right. :D

Going well. I am trying to put the same together myself. There are a couple of simple gotchas in that the ILS aerials should be removed as they are RAF fit and the right? Hand seams on the wing tanks should be removed.

Thanks very much for the info.

Cheers,

Alistair
