Toothpaste is also a quite good polish for canopies and clear parts. Great job with the canopy.

Best of luck with your build!

Thanks,

I've used toothpaste and brasso on acrylic watch faces to get scratches out and polish them up.

I didn't know you could use it on canopies. That is good to know.

Cheers,

Alistair

I've been doing the seam work on the fuselage for the last few days during the 20 minutes of usable daylight that we get here at this time of year.

I had a look today and think I've got the, so, the wings and horizontal stabilisers were built and glued into place.

There will be a little work required at the underside wing root fir but apart from that it looks pretty good.

I'll find out when I get to paint, which may not be too far away.

You may have noticed that I've not fitted the contra rotating prop system.

I feel that this unnecessary for my uses as a static display and will just be gluing the props in place.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

Good decision. That gearbox thing is just a useless gimmick in my opinion. 😁

This (and the Spiteful) is one of those kits that seems to attract strident opprobrium, but it looks like a Seafang to me and quite shapely at that.

My thoughts exactly.

A little paint was wafted around to check on the seams.

I'm pleased to say all was good so I fitted the gunsight and masked up the canopy.

Once the paint was dry the canopy was glued on.

Things are looking good for some paint tomorrow which will show if the canopy requires any blending.

I just need to figure out if the wheel wells would have been Aluminium of Light Admiralty Grey.

I would like them to be LAG as I love the colour but I'll have a thunk aboot it.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

After doing a fair bit of canopy blending I shot some primer this morning.

When I was rescribing the sanded out panel lines I noticed that the nose seam was showing just not in the photos which is unusual.

No big deal a sand a scrape and some Mr. Dissolved Putty.

C'est extrêmement gentil de votre part Monsieur.

That will do nicely I think.

I've got to head out for some domestic stuff but that will give things a chance to dry and I'll get some post shading done on return.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

This is looking good Alistair.

Thanks very much Col.

Back from town and I added a drop of Sky Grey to the EDSG and did some fading/ post shading.

This was followed by three highly thinned (20 Paint/80 Thinner) misted coats of EDSG to blend it all in.

Once that's dry I'll get the masking off and see if there are any touch-ups needed.

More later,

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Alistair
