Nice work, Alistair! You'll be done before you know it ;)

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks Mark,

I'm definitely getting closer.

I've already cut the masks for the serials and once they're done there will only be the prop and U/C to get painted and positioned.

I should get a start on the those bits tomorrow as I've got a bit of time off work.

Cheers,

Alistair

Hi Alistair,  so this is where you've been hiding, I was wondering why I hadn't seen your builds lately.  Great work on this one, it’s looking fantastic.   I did the Trumpeter Wyvern and built the contra rotating prop and greased it as per instruction and it has never worked properly!!! So better off leaving out.

Great work fella

Thanks Chris,

I got lured in here by @2996 Victor and they've promised to let me out once I've completed something.

Who am I kidding it gave me the excuse to do a couple of FAA subjects as if I needed the excuse.

Cheers,

Alistair

Serials masked and painted with three light mists of Tamiya Nato Black.

Some touch ups needed but that will do nicely.

I'll get the touch ups done and then get a clear coat on to protect everything.

Thanks for looking,

Touch ups done and the final marking applied.

Ready for a clear coat and some light weathering once I fit the last parts for the radiators.

I'll get the undercarriage and propeller parts started at that point as well.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

You've really mastered that stencil masking lark! Very nice, I too always go for the low demarcation EDSG

Andy

Thanks Andy,

I'm still trying stuff out to get it to the stage that any touch ups are minimal.

The roundels are still problematic but I'll get there eventually.

Looking great! That's an interesting mix of roundel types.

Thanks,

Trumpeter had Type C roundels in all positions but I'd read that this was wrong and they should be Type D except for the fuselage.

If I'm wrong then so be it, this one was only used for Carrier landing trials. :D

Getting closer, I feel.

So, after a protective clear coat a light Flory Dark Dirt wash and some oil dot filtering was applied.

The majority of the undercarriage was assembled and she's on her feet.

Still to do.

Final undercarriage parts and rear wheel doors.

Whip Aerial,

Flaps,

Light weather to undercarriage, wheel wells and flaps.

Final satin coat.

Unmask canopy and Camera Port.

Krystal Klear to Camera Port.

Fit Nav Lights.

Not to much to do.

If I can extract the digit I may get it done today.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

The longest wait is for the Satin Coat to dry.

I can relate... 'tis the curse of the enamel brush painter... :hourglass:

Well done Alistair. She's a cool breeze on a tropic evening. I must especially congratulate you on that brush painting which is very good indeed.

Thanks Bertie but I use an airbrush, can't use a brush to save myself.

Well I said it was very good. (It's still good for airbrushing.) I was misled by Tony's post above, sorry.

No worries,

No need for apologies either.

I do use enamels but Colourcoats thinners speeds up the drying time.

Cheers,

Alistair

Stunning, Alistair, that's an absolute beaut! The panel wash just lifts the surface and brings it to life. Fantastic!
